Summary

Post-upgrade to SOTI MobiControl 2025.1.0, user preferences in the web console revert after saving. Using the Reset Console option restores the ability to save preferences.

Issue Description

After upgrading to SOTI MobiControl 2025.1.0, users are unable to change their preferences in the web console. Selecting Save results in the settings reverting back to their previous state, making it impossible to update preferences.

Environment

SOTI MobiControl environments utilizing the web console, after upgrading to 2025.1.0.

 

Symptoms

  • User preferences revert to previous settings after selecting Save.
  • Users are unable to make and retain changes to their settings in the web console.

Prevention

As a workaround, to prevent this issue while awaiting a resolution (see the Issue Resolution section) ,refrain from making changes to the preferences until SOTI provides an update and the issue resolution is not necessary.

Cause

The issue may occur when upgrading to SOTI MobiControl 2025.1.0, and may affect the functionality of your ability to save user preferences in the web console.

Issue Resolution

To resolve the preference saving issue:

1. Log in to the SOTI MobiControl web console.

2. In the top right corner of the web console, select on your username.

3. Select Reset Console from the dropdown list.

4. Choose to reset User Preference Settings for each affected user.

5. After resetting, users will be able to save their preferences again.

This approach should restore the functionality to save preferences without reversion.

Workarounds

  • Encourage users to reset their console settings as described above.
