Samsung non-Knox devices enrolled into SOTI MobiControl are losing management capability, including Remote Control, after upgrading their agent version to 15.0.0, even though the device is not on Android 11

Cause

New Knox detection logic was added in version 15.0.0 of the Android agent to avoid detecting Knox APIs on non-Knox Samsung devices on all Android versions, instead of only on Android 11 and above. For a list of non-Knox devices, please navigate to https://www.samsungknox.com/en/knox-platform/supported-devices; any device that falls under "Android Go" and "Android Others" is a non-Knox device.

Resolution

To keep management capability (including Remote Control) on Android Classic, and Remote control capability on Android Enterprise for non-Knox devices that are pre-Android 11, do not upgrade the Android Classic Samsung ELM agent nor the Android Enterprise agent to version 15.0.0. Instead, please upgrade the Android agent to version 15.0.1.
