Status Bar is still visible after checking "Hide Status Bar" in Lockdown for XPlore devices

Greetings,

We have an agency that is using the XPlore iX101D1 (XSlate D10) tablet for their fleet and for some reason even though in their profile in the Lockdown configuration we have all 3 Status Bar items checked (Disable Status Bar Expansion, Disable Settings Changes, Hide Status Bar), the status bar is still visible.  Also, in the lock screen, the status bar can even be pulled down by the user.

Before entering in a support ticket, I wanted to see if anyone else had this issue and if there was a resolution to it.

The Android OS version is 5.1 and the Agent version is Xplore 13.3.3.1010 (Android+).

Thanks,

Craig Prusansky

Many device OEM's, due to resource, time or other reasons,  decide to implement in their device firmware support for only a subset of Android+ MDM features.   Thus, not all Android+ devices support the three options, namely Disable Status Bar Expansion, Disable Settings Changes, Hide Status Bar.  All Samsung devices released in the last 3-4 years  basically support all three, but some other brands may support only "Disable Status Bar Expansion"; and some support none of them.

For some device brands/models, "Disable Settings Changes"  may be achieved by blacklisting  the bundle ID of "Settings" in application run control payload.

According to a Google unofficial list on the web, Xplore XSlate D10  support Android Enterprise.  You may try factory-resetting the device and force it into Android Enterprise Managed-Device mode (use afw#mobicontrol when being prompted for Google account), and enrol the device with an Add-Devices rule for AE platform.  Set the Kiosk payload for Android-Enterprise platform similar to Lockdown payload for Android Plus platform.
