3500 Windows 10 devices connected to two deployment/management servers, version 15 Mobicontrol. Windows agents currently configured with server IP address. our Network department wants to move the servers to another IP segment and suggested using server name instead of IP address. I build a new agent install using server names but PCs do not connect. Agent test returns "Connected. Cannot send data to server." Connect button on General tab will not connect. Why does IP address connect but server name does not? have tested with fully qualified server name and also :port number. Also - for mass deploy of change from IP to server name, is the pdb.ini the only file to be modified? i have script that will search/replace IP with server name once we have that working.
We are looking at providing phones to run a very simple web app, so the requirements for the device are very low. I was considering looking at Android One devices to simplify things, however I was wondering if there were any brands or models that worked particularly well with Mobicontrol? For example, having the most compatible features, allowing easy deployment, etc We're looking in the region of <£200 Thanks
Good evening, is it possible insert a timeout before that the soti lockdown launch automatically an app? Because the app must wait the registration license code. I have use the Zebra CC6000 device with Android Oreo. Web Console version is: 14.4.4.1045 The agent version is: 14.0.0.1579 Thank you. Best regards.
Hello, I am receiving the following error when trying to enroll a Windows 10 device into our test MobiControl environement What should I do? MDM Enroll: Server Returned Fault/Code/Subcode/Value=(a:InternalServiceFault) Fault/Reason/Text=(The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error. For more information about the error, either turn on IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults (either from ServiceBehaviorAttribute or from the <serviceDebug> configuration behavior) on the server in order to send the exception information back to the client, or turn on tracing as per the Microsoft .NET Framework SDK documentation and inspect the server trace logs.).
Hello, We are using lockdown on Android Enterprise. Is there anyway to set it up so that the icons can have a unique link for each different device? Or would we have to set up multiple unique profiles?
Hello, We are testing using managed Google Play on an owned device, however when we try and add calendar events to Google Calendar we get an error: No Calendars have been synced with this device yet. Ideally we would like to set up reminders at the same time each day for the user to follow a link and complete a questionnaire. Does anyone know how to get this working with a managed Google account?
Hi there, we install some apk with Package Studio. But how to install an xapk? Is there a way to do it with package studio too?
I updated a TC72 with the LG09 patch for Oreo. After it applied the update it is asking for the password for android. These devices were never setup with a passcode or password as they were Android Managed Devices running SOTI Kiosk mode. Any idea what this password is?
Hello, I was looking at another post (Thanks Matt) and saw the reference to building a web app in Managed Google Play. https://discussions.soti.net/thread/chrome-lockdown-disable-url-bar/?reply=be995de4-5e12-479b-837d-c8cdf102fd2a#createpost A unique icon is created for each app that is built and installed. When using the identify_activity script, they each show (Current activity name: com.android.chrome/org.chromium.chrome.browser.webapps.WebApkActivity) in the log. Has anyone found a way to launch a unique web app created in the play store from a Lockdown? Let me clarify that I understand what Surf offers but am always looking for alternative solutions. Thanks for your time. Shawn
Hey, i was once playing with the sheduled actions to deplay a profile (lockdown) at a specific time (daily). Now i am playing again with the custom shedule. The lockdown gets deployed at the specific timei set. For my test i set a time window of 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes it should leave the lockdown. But the profilegot revoked not after 15 minutes but after 40 minutes. So does it mean that the profile must be active for at least 40 minutes? Here is a screenshot of my configuration: Also the shedule does not work always. Sometimes it is just ignoring the time and does not activate the profile on the device.I am also using UTC time to get it work. I am testing on premise MC V15.0.2.1049Device: Samsung SM-P580 (Android 8.1)MC Agent: 14.1.7 1117 Thanks!
Hello, I am looking for some manuals for enrolling windows Modern devices with Certificate. I ma ready with add device rule but how to continue with Microsoft Windows ICD tool. what I need to select and how to prepare the image from side of windows device Milen
Hi, I'm able to populate custom data from an ini file when I set it on the item level, in this case windows classic units, but not when the same rules are set on the group level. Tested on both MC 14.4.4 and 15.0.2. Is this by design, or am I missing something?
I am trying to update our TC70x devices to the latest Oreo LG patch. I used file sync to get the ZIP on all the devices and then scheduled the script (install_system_update %sdcard%/mdm/CFE_ATLAS_02-13-15.00-OG-U20-STD.zip) to install outside of production hours. When I woke up I saw that this failed. I went to one of the devices and just sent the script through the script button on SOTI and the device updated fine. So I am not sure what I am doing wrong here.
We are currently experiencing some issues when sending messages through Soti. If the devices are on standby and you send a message when the device is in this state, when you unlock the device from the standby state the message appears for a split second and then moves off the screen moving from right to left. If you then send a second subsequent message – when the device is unlocked and not on standby – the first message sent when the device was locked is received by the device followed by the second subsequent message. We have noticed that when we remove the LockDown profile we have in place, the messaging service works as expected, with no further issues. In our Lock Down profile I have tried to change varying settings, but the issue still occurs. Have you ever seen this behaviour before? I have spoken to support and they have tried sending some scripts related to disabling doze mode, and have also edited the Feature Control – however it is still an issue. Is there anything you can suggest? We are using MobiControl version 15 and our agent version is 14.1.6.1018. Our devices are Samsung Galaxy A50 devices on Android version 9.0. We are using Android Enterprise. Thank you ECMVDS
We are having problems getting accurate results in the "Last Connect Dates" and "Agent Checkin Time" graphs within SOTI. It appears that we are only seeing this problem on Android Enterprise devices as we have the same graphs setup for Windows devices and get accurate results. Android Enterprise devices show as "Unknown" on each graph even though this information is available on the device details page. We setup columns in the dashboard to show this information per each device which shows accurate information but business is requesting this in a graphical form. It would be nice to be able to use the graphs that already exist on the dashboard for this purpose. I have included screenshots as reference. Thank you, Justin Pratt
