When downloading the latest Android OEM agent you get version 13.6.0 Build 1664 (tried downloading a Zebra and Elo OEM agent). But the latest release notes are for 13.6.0 Build 1476. Are there any release notes for  13.6.0 Build 1664?

How to upgrade Soti Agent 13.3.1 to latest version (Soti Mobicontrol Server 14.3)

Hi, We have the following problem: we have 700+ devices (M3 SM10 LTE) and some time ago we upgraded Soti Mobicontrol server from (I don't remember what version) to 14.1. Most of our devices had agent version 13.3.1. After server upgrade we are unable to upgrade agent version because is incompatible with server version. Devices with 13.3.1 don't download new packages from the server because of this and this is very important to us. These downloads must work. We manually installed on few devices the newer agent version (13.5.0 and 13.5.1) and devices downloads packages like it should. The big question is: how can we make the upgrade automatically ? Because to install this manually on each, is a pain in the *** ...   Thank you in advance! Andrei

Stage Programmer and core app removal

Hello, new mobicontrol install and I'm working out the best way to enroll out of the box devices (android enterprise honeywell CT60). If I manually setup with afw#mobicontrol I get the minimal set of installed applications as mentioned in links below.  However it looks like the manufacturer camera app "snapdragon camera" (org.codeaurora.snapcam) is removed completely rather than just hidden (can't see it in device details application list) so cannot use the enable system app script for that bundle.  If I use the Stage Programmer app to setup a QR code and scan that with an OOTB device, it enrolls and provisions, however it does not seem to hide/remove any default apps.  So, I'm left wondering the best way to proceed.  I like the simplicity of the Stage app, and would like to keep the OEM camera app, however there are other default core apps I would like to hide - is there a script to hide apps, or can application run control hide apps or does it just prevent launch? Mobicontrol device details indicates both devices are "work managed devices" with same agent versions but with a different outcome re. default core apps visibility/install status. Is this a bug/version issue or caused by the way I've set things up? Kind regards, Similar topics: https://discussions.soti.net/kb/why-are-some-system-applications-hidden-after-i-provision-into-work-managed-device-mode/ https://discussions.soti.net/thread/core-apps-being-removed-android-enterprise/

    Feature request: enhanced kiosk mode

By which means can I create a feature request to SOTI? More specifically: we will be managing a few hundred mobile devices, organized in 10+ device groups, each with a specific Kiosk profile. This requires some effort when a new app must be added to the kiosk screen when multiple device groups are affected/involved. Suggestion: the possibility to define a list of kiosk menu items, only displaying items of type 'Launch://' when the package is present on the device. This way, we could configure the kiosk screen only once, and re-use this for all device groups

is there a way for the end user to lock his device with a pin/pattern?

hey guys, we have a lot of devices enrolled in android plus. we use a kiosk (lockdown screen) to display approved apps, including email. my question is, is there a way for the user to protect his device with a pin code or pattern lock with soti? if so, in the event of the employee leaving the company and returning the device, is there a way for me to bypass or remove the pin through SOTI MobiControl? Thanks in advance!

    Updating Managed Google Play Agents

Hi All, I have deployed a number of devices to the field and need to update them to the latest AE Agent available. Is there a way to remotely push this update/ask the device to update? Does the agent need to be approved via the Google Play Store Managed Account and then added to the Application Catalog? James

Lockdown closes open app and refreshes lockdown homescreen when network connection changes (Android 8) Solved

Hi, We are having an issue where our Samsung Galaxy Tab A users are on the field and when they change between store wifi and mobile data (and vice versa), they're being chucked back to the Lockdown screen and it starts refreshing. This happens every time and has been confirmed on all devices including the test one I am using. We are running Android 8.1 and MobiControl 13.6.0 Build 1476. Is there a way we can stop it doing this refresh when they change network connections? Any help will be much appreciated! Kind Regards, Josh

    Best practice for stolen devices

Hi everyone, We are using SOTI MobiControl Cloud to manage our Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 devices running on Android 7. Earlier this week we got word that one of users had his tablet stolen (the first in over 2 years of our tablet rollout project). Until now we had not set up any profiles or rules to deal with such an occurrence, therefore it is something I am currently looking into now.  I've done some research and the best I can see is Out of Contact profiles can be set to delete the device when it has not communicated with SOTI in a certain time frame. Unfortunately I am not able to push this policy out to all of our devices as devices can be out of contact for different time frames due to the rotation/shifts of our users.  My idea was to create a "Lost and Stolen" folder and then apply an Out of Contact rule which runs a wipe command or several scripts that will turn off wifi/bt/radios, uninstall specific apps, delete certain folders eg pictures/videos, and force the device to restart every 10 mins or so.... in other words basically be unusable for the thief. I would drag stolen devices into this folder as soon as it is reported to us in the IT department. My questions are: 1) What is the best practice for stolen or lost devices?  2) If I have an Out of Contact rule that executes a wipe script, will it do a complete factory reset or will the device still be enrolled and managed by SOTI after the wipe? I don't want to do a factory reset as this would make it even better for the thief to use it.  3) Would running several scripts that causes a nuisance for the thief by periodically rebooting, turning off wifi/bt/radios, etc the device be a better option? I want to brick the device so it can't be used again or at least make it very hard for your average Joe to utilise.  Any assistance on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
