wpa2-eap WIFI configuration with password that will change

I'm looking into configuring some Datalogic Memor 10 handhelds for some folks that float from location to location. The devices need to have a lockdown screen as they are company owned and only for business purposes. These folks will use a wpa2-eap configuration using their Active Directory username and password. Every time their password changes they will need to change the stored password. Neither the SOTI Settings application nor action://CONFIGURE_WIFI allow for EAP configuration. I'm looking into directly using the built in Android WIFI settings but I can't get the intent to work right. I can launch com.android.settings and bring up that dialog, but if I try to use an intent for something like android.settings.WIFI_SETTINGS the action fails. I know I'm just missing something silly. Any thoughts? Any other thoughts on allowing a user to change their stored password on the device?

Lockdown - allow access to public Wi-Fi pages

We have locked down our devices so that the users can only see a specific app and the Wi-Fi settings. Users need to be able to connect to public Wi-Fi so we have added SOTI Surf with very locked down permissions. I'm trying to figure out what option under Web Content Filtering in the Surf settings would cover these Wi-Fi registration pages (and exclude it).  I've attempted using trial and error but it would be handy if someone was able to confirm.

    Wi-Fi settings - remember password

We are using Lockdown with Android Enterprise. We access the Wi-Fi settings using action://CONFIGURE_WIFI This seems to work well, however we have found that when changing between 2 networks the password is forgotten, so when switching back to the original network the user must re-enter the password. Is there a setting to adjust this or is this just how this works?

Setting up multiple different WiFis on Android devices before in field use

Hello everybody, I have been trying to find a good way for setting up multiple WiFis on my Lenovo tabM7 devices running Android 9. We have around 90 Stores, each store is using its own WiFi (different SSID, different key etc.). I obviously have to put in the WiFi information on each device before it gets send out to the store during the initial enrollment and setup of the device in our main office. Each store has its different device group inside MobiControl. It can't really be best practice to use 90+ Profiles with different WiFi settings and assign them to each device? Thanks!

Lockdown - status bar without activity suppression

We have activated Activity Suppression lockdown so that the status bar can be shown on screen. However we have found that doing this causes the Wi-Fi Settings option we have set up no longer works as the page immediately closes: launch://com.android.settings/com.android.settings.wifi.WifiSettings We're not able to use the Wi-Fi settings app to set Wi-Fi due to the issues here: https://discussions.soti.net/thread/android-enterprise-lockdown-wi-fi-scan-does-not-work/ Is there any way to display the status bar without activity suppression or is there a way to allow this settings page to remain open with activity suppression enabled?

Lockdown - connect to public Wi-Fi Solved

We are using Android Enterprise and locking down the phones to a lock screen with one app and a button to the Wi-Fi settings. How would a user go about connecting to a public Wi-Fi that requires a log in screen in browser? Is there any workaround to allow access to just that page when needed? I've not tested yet but assume this page would just fail to open.

How to switch to a new Wifi network for all scanners?

Hi,  We are going to change to a new corporate standard Wifi for all mobile devices. I have been able to create a new profile for the new Wifi network (Add profile -> add -> connectivity-> Wifi) But when i assign this profile to a device group, it only adds the new Wifi network to the scanners (and not connect to them). So my question is, how can i manage the scanners to also connect to the new Wifi? And also if possible, forget the old Wifi. Android Enterprise - lockdown - Wi-Fi scan does not work Locked

We are locking down Android Enterprise phones to a few onscreen buttons. One is for action://CONFIGURE_WIFI We are finding that we are able to get to the settings and manually enter Wi-Fi name, but the scan does not work. Is there another corresponding setting that needs to be configured to allow the scan to work? EDIT: The actual cause of this is that the Wi-Fi scan does not work if location is disabled. Not sure why this is related but have been able to confirm this by testing.

Disable Wifi toggle is Status Bar Solved

Hi, I'm locking down a Samsung Active Tab 2 with the Andorid+ SOTI agent. Its running SOTI Surf in single app mode and I would like users to be able to change certain settings from the status bar but not others.  I'm able to disable the settings I don't want user to turn on with feature control, but I cant find a way to allow users to change the brightness and rotation settings while at the same time not allowing them to turn off the wifi. Is this possible? Thanks

iOS Profile to Auto Join WiFi

Looking for some insight in how to best accomplish this. We have active directory integration, but quickly realize that passwords are not passed through. Our WiFi Network is WPA2 802.1X. In our auto join Wifi profile we have the Protocols set to LEAP and PEAP, username as domain\%ENROLLEDUSER_USERNAME%. There is no macro for password, so we've left it blank. When a device with this profile tries to join the network it fails. If we try to manually connect, it gets the correct username but there is no box to enter the password and the connection fails. Thanks, Michael

    WiFi MAC address

Hello everybody, Is there a script with which we can find the WiFi MAC address of a device (or preferably a group of devices), without having to connect to WiFi? We're dealing with a large number of Zebra TC75x devices running on Android 6.0.1 which need to be updated to Android 7.1.2. To do that, we'd like MobiControl to push that OS update to them but only when the device is connected using WiFi (because of the large file size). Sadly, the devices are being kept in an area with highlt restricted WiFi access. A new WiFi access point will be setup, secured to only allow specific devices to be connected. It needs the WiFi MAC address to differentiate between devices. MobiControl has a column for MAC Address. But since a large number of devices has been staged using ethernet, and has never been connected to WiFi afterwards, the wrong MAC address is being shown. Is there a script that shows the WiFi MAC address, preferably of all enrolled devices? Can MobiControl tell the difference between an ethernet MAC address and a WiFi MAC address? Android Settings Solved

I'm looking to change two settings on our TC70X Zebra Android devices.  One is changing the Screen lock to None, and the second is changing Wifi Settings "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to Always.  Is there a way to do that in Soti?
