Lockdown - connect to public Wi-Fi

We are using Android Enterprise and locking down the phones to a lock screen with one app and a button to the Wi-Fi settings.

How would a user go about connecting to a public Wi-Fi that requires a log in screen in browser? Is there any workaround to allow access to just that page when needed?

I've not tested yet but assume this page would just fail to open.

If your button that opens wifi settings is the Android settings app, it might work, unless you are explicitly blocking Web View or whatever stock browser you have on there, sounds like it should be tested though.

If you are using Settings Manager, then I believe it will fail. This should be a good feature request for the Setting Manager app that you can submit to the support team though.
