Error sending message (Error sending DEVICE_SCRIPT_MSG (Connection not established)) (Error sending DEVICE_SCRIPT_MSG (Connection not established)) in deployment server multiple time I am getting
I'm struggling to find an answer to this. Is there a document or list that outlines the different functionalities of Mobicontrol for iOS and Android.
Does Soti have the ability to restrict profiles and packages from being applied over cellular? We have a bunch of Zebra TC-56's and we want them to be able to contact the server when they are out on the road via cellular so we can remote control and locate them, but we do not want them applying packages because it chews up cellular data. Instead we would like the devices to wait until they are back at our buildings on wi-fi to perform package installations and updates. Is this possible via built-in Soti functions or even some scriptable work around?
When we manufacture our Android devices, one of the steps is enrolling the device in the Soti MDM. This enrollment is done via an Ethernet connection. We have recently modified the agent version that is bundled in our OS image from 13.0.0.33835 to 13.5.0.1088 and there appears to be a behaviour change. We are now seeing all devices attempt to enroll with a device id of 00904c112233. If we instead connect the device to Wi-Fi before enrolling, then the device id appears to be unique for each device. Has there been a change in the algorithm that the Android agent uses to generate the device id when enrolling? If so, I have two additional questions: is there any way to ensure unique device ids without connecting to Wi-Fi? is this behaviour the same in more recent versions of the agent (if there are any)? With which version of Soti MobiControl can we have this operation
Hi All, about this thread https://discussions.soti.net/kb/mobicontrol-in-countries-using-decimals-as-commas-cannot-locate-devices-issue, I don't see the fix on release notes v14.1.2 how suggest by the same thread. Thank you,Filippo
Hello! Who knows, which security rules are responsible for viewing assigned profiles on devices? Have 1 added directory Security Group, what in another Mobicontrol Security Group, and don't know which global permissions should be added for viewing assigned profiles.
Hello, Is is possible to disable the automatic updates of apps installed as mandatory from Google Play for Work ? Thank you
I've created a profile to install BitDefender antivirus onto around 16000 devices and have been following its progress via the graph in Execution Status. Within the first hour or so, about 5000 devices have reported that the profile has been installed. Since then, a very small number of devices have installed the profile, but there are still over 10000 devices that are in a Pending Install state. The majority of these devices are currently online. When I check the logcat logs on these devices, I do not see evidence that the profile is being applied (e.g. no http request to activate the AV license). What will trigger a device to complete the installation of the profile? "Retry Profile Installation" does not appear to have an effect.
Hi, Is there a way to force 3G connection over 4G(LTE) via Soti Mobicontrol? We are using Panasonic FZ-A2 and only way to adjust mobile connection preference, is manually from device: Settings --> Data usage --> mobile networks --> Preferred network --> 3G/GSM (auto) If this setting could be deployed or controlled from mobicontrol, it would be a lot easier. Thanks in advance Tuomas Sallinen
Hi Every now and then we are getting to a point where we have to use the sendintent command and every time we struggle to get this right since it is written in a certain way as a script command. There is the guide for sendintent command but it would be nice to get some more examples and more detailed guide/manual for this very useful command on the android platform. Maybe also the difference when using Intent:// from a lockdown. Thanks in advance
We have seen that Settings Manager, when changing the brightness level, the changes do not apply to the device. The level of brightness changes while the Settings Manager application is in the foreground but when returning to another application the brightness level returns to its previous state. We are using the latest version of Settings Manager: 13.4.0 Build71
I'm looking to know if Android Go Edition is being considered on our roadmap as one Major reseller is looking to consider of these devices for future deployments. As you know, some emergent markets like the LATAM region is considered a gold mine for these kind of devices.
Hi I've just been upgraded to 14.1 and am in the process of creating new rules so that I can build Samsung devices using Managed Google Play Account. The Android Enterprise Bindings has been set, the rule for what apps I need have been created and they all work fine - wiped device enrols and apps are installed. BUT... The profile I have created to enforce encryption, SOTI Surf rules etc is not being installed. It's pointing to the correct folder. There are no errors to show in the log of the profile or the device. What am I missing?
Hello, I'm trying to use the 'finishpkg' command in one of my packages to prevent a continuos reboot of the device. I cant use the syntax shown at https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.1/en/scriptcmds/helpindex.html because Android doesn't support the 'if' command. (Logs of the device show an error) Tried to put the 'finishpkg' command in front of the file path and completely leave out the 'if exist' and the package is not being installed. So far so good, but the installation status of the package is 'failed'. Quote from Online Help: This script command can be used to skip reinstalling the package but still report back as successfully installed to the deployment server. Does anybody have experience with using this command on Android? Thank you!
