Hey hello everyone 1- the first one is about location services in mobicontrol, is there any way to to make it work offline since we are using Mobicontrol in an offline facility? 2- the second question is about the Application Catalog for Android+ devices, the application can't be downloaded, it says on the error that the link isn't working but it actually is , it has been tested in the device's browser and it is working 3- is there a way to take a user/thief 's photo without them knowing about it best regards
Hey there, as you all know, when installing a new version of MobiControl you also need to upgrade the device agent on all of your devices. I always have a lot of problems, when trying to upgrade the device agent on my Zebra MK4000 Win/CE devices. These devices have a very low amount of RAM and disk space and pretty much erase everything thats not stored in the \Application folder during a cold boot. There is a script that gets executed everytime during cold boot, which installs applications and changes some settings around on the device to get it "ready for work". I've also included the installation of the MobiControl device agent in this script. Unfortunately there is no specific device agent for the MK4000, I've already reached out to SOTI a while ago and asked for a agent but the support told me to use the generic one for Win/CE devices. Everything works fine, once the new agent is on the device... but getting it on there is quite the task.... When upgrade the agent via the MobiControl console its always a gamble if the device comes back online or not. If not, I have to reach out to the user and ask him to cold boot the device... during boot the script installs the old agent again. At least Im able to remote control it again but im pretty much back to where I started. The device logs only show a message "Agent upgrade attempt failed". If the agent upgrade is successful I use a FileSync rule to get the new .CAB-File on the device. This always works without any errors. Is it somehow possible to sync files with a rule when the agent on the device is outdated? If so, I could push the new agents .CAB-File to the device... tell the user to cold boot it and the bootscript installs the new agent. Done. I hope someone reads through all this. :-)

Hi, I have enabled a Telecom Expense Management Rule and have a question around the data produced. I'm looking creating my own custom report for this and am querying the DB directly. When I look at the DeviceStatNetTraffic table, there are Upload and Download columns. Does anyone know what data storage type these numbers represent? I'm assuming it would be either bytes or kilobytes. For instance if I look at the query below, I have a piece of data for the Soti Surf app collected over an 8 hr period. If I assume that the values in the Upload and Download columns are kilobytes of data, I would have a total of 22.4MB of upload and 324.6MB of download for an 8 hr period for just Soti Surf. This seems high to me based on the websites that are allowed in our whitelist so I want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. Hi all, I have recently started to design a lockdown template for our devices. A really important element that we ideally want to implement is to display the SOTI set 'Device Name' on the lockdown screen. So if the device changes hands we can rename the device, and the display name would change dynamically. Does anyone know if this is possible? Any help is greatly appreciated, Seb

Has anyone done any field tests on how Enterprise Resource Gateway CPU/memory/network loadings scale with number of devices or Soti-Surf/Hub policies ?
The reason is I have many iPads out in the field with a password policy for 90 days and what happens is the users forget to change it and the account becomes unable to login. Well guess what because the WiFi is not connected any longer I can/t simple go in and clear the password for the user to create a new one because it inst online any longer.

After the first Connection to MobiControl the Devices receives a Device Certificate to connect to our Production WLAN. Is there a way to set the Production WLAN as active and delete the Staging WLAN?
