Hi, in the release notes for MobiControl 2025.1 is mentioned: Use Zebra LifeGuard Without Google PlayThis feature allows administrators to automatically provision the Zebra enrollment app for Zebra LifeGuard as an Enterprise app via App policy without compromising security compliance and avoid interfacing with Google Play services. How does this actually work? I don't find anything more about it, then just this entry. If I choose an Enterprise app it either needs an APK or an URL to download the app?
We have tried the Managed Google Play Profile settings for Wiffi only or never update settings. Setting to Wifi only doesn't really do anything. We are currently setting it to never update, but not sure if that will work either. Is there a SOTI feature, script or Profile settings for the below?
I'm not sure what I'm missing here but I'm hoping someone can help me out. Ultimately, I'm trying to add my app to an application catalog rule using the Managed Google Play Applications option. Here's what I've done. In Google Play Console I've set my organization, set the app to private, created a release for Production, uploaded the apk, and released it. Everything looks right. It says it has been released, is active, and says it is available on Google Play. The dashboard even gives me a link to view it on Google Play, though the link goes to a page that isn't found (which might be expected for a private app). When I try to add my app in MobiControl it isn't there. But I know the organization link is working correctly because I can approve apps in the managed Play Store and they show up. Does anyone have any idea what I might be missing?
Hello, At my company we are upgrading to Samsung Tab Active 3s on Android 12 enrolled as Android Enterprise. As of late, I've noticed a large amount of data consumption on these tablets. The issue is that we are on a limited monthly plan (1Gb a month) delivered by a hotspot we connect to via wifi and I've already had four tablets deplete the data due to Google Play activity (so a month's worth in 6 days or less). I have disabled updates to apps via Google Play via feature control, which appears to be effective. I initially thought this was based on the updates being sent by Samsung to update the OS but I can see that the data consumed there is listed separately. I contacted support and they suggested disabling background data, which has helped, but Google Play still used 276Mb just yesterday. I'm unable to figure out what is causing the amount of data consumption and am not used to this behavior as the majority of my fleet is using older Tab A T-350s on Android 6.0.1. Is there a way to see what Google Play is doing that is causing the data usage to be so elevated? If you have any ideas for me to try out or need more information to assist, please let me know. Perhaps this data consumption should be expected on newer devices and I should look into increasing the amount of data purchased per month, although I'd like to avoid that if possible. Thanks!
