Hi everyone, i try to install some internal apk. on the SunMi V2s. (Android 11) Unfortunately the installations keeps failing. On the app catalog I can see that it keeps trying to install it but it keeps failing. I also use a Datalogic Memor 10, where it seems to be working just fine. (Android 10) Installing the same apps without SOTI binding works just fine. The setting with the Datalogic and SunMi are almost identical. thanks in advance Ümmet
Hello, I want to clear the cache of the google chrome and Soti Surf application at several times during the day which are not always at the same time, so I can't use scheduled tasks. I do not wish to use lockdown. Here are the commands: wipeapplication net.soti.surfwipeapplication com.android.chromestart net.soti.surf Is it possible to create an application with package studio or the user will be able to launch an application (APK) to launch this script? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Best regards
Hi All, Accidentally deleted my original post when trying to post a fix... so apologies to all that was following my other post Quick Background Since upgrading MobiControl to v15.4 we notice an issue with direct downloading the agent when trying to enroll a device. We would constantly get the following error when we hit the download button on the mobile device when enrolling and it would fail This is a fix for that issue that worked for me. So use this at your own risk. I will summarise the fix, so if you need a bit more info let me know as it can get technical For this fix, you will need to be able to access and edit your SQL database for MobiControl
Good Morning, I am trying to update several of our apps on our devices. I am getting a failure on some apps and it reads "Failed to install i/o error". I have tried repackaging the APK, Finding a different source for the APK and so far no luck. Is there a script available that I could include in my package build? A script to maybe uninstall the previous version of the package? I wonder if i am confusing the device on what it should install.
Hello, i need to send my own .apk to a device recommended for google enterprise (motorola g8 plus), it´s assigned as device owner mode, but i don´t know how to approve enterprise apps, i´ll be doing fine with googled managed apps from the playstore.
Hi there, i installed a custom application which changes the background/lockscreen image. Installation with MCPS works fine. Now i want to start/kill the application via script but i think i'm doing it wrong. Application: BackgroundChanger.apk <-> BackgroundChanger.pkg I found: kill_application BackgroundChanger start BackgroundChanger Do i have to add something because nothing is happening.
We deploy a homegrown APK along with a few configuration files in a profile created using MC Studio. In order for the device to be set up for first use, a series of events takes place within the app that updates a configuration file. Our development team is wanting to know if we can simply reinstall an APK while leaving the stored files untouched. I have found it possible using ADB: https://developer.android.com/studio/command-line/adb#pm Does SOTI support ADB commands or is there a way to accomplish this? I tried searching the forum for an answer but wasn't able to find anything substantial. SOTI v14.2 Android Plus devices
I connected my android plus devices to the SOTI Mobicontrol and my devices are sowing in the Mobicontroldashboard. I can do some simple actions like "Send a message", "Lock" on my devices using Mobicontrol. Now i want to send some configurations like SOTI Surf, Lock Down and some apk files (using package) to the devices. For this i created a profile and set all my configurations and set my package in this profile. But when i try to assign this package to my device , these configurations or packages doesn't get reflected in the devices. Also the dashboard shows that "no devices assigned".i am getting no error message. Screenshots attached. Can you please help me to resolve this issue ? PS: I have disabled my firewall to make sure no port is blocking.
Hi Just wondering if anyone is running on-prem mobicontrol and have any recommendation on exclusion/setting for their antivirus software? The issue I'm having is that when uploading a new APK file to the app catalog in mobicontrol, depending on the APK as it doesn happen to all APKs, i get a timeout error were it says "Data is temporarily unavailable" and fails to upload. Further investigation with Soti Support we have found it to be the Antivirus on the server causing the issue. Unfortunately soti support has no recommendations on what can be changed or excluded in the antivirus to let the APKs go thru as this is a third-party app. And we cant turn off the antivirus completely either for obvious reasons. They have suggested work around like setting APKs as packages but again not ideal. Anyone got any ideas on were or how APK files are uploaded and what folders we could try excluding from antivirus scanning to get this working? Antivirus: Kaspersky server 10.1 Mobicontrol v14.2 OS: Win Server 2012r2 CPU: 2.2hhz Quad Ram: 16GB
Hello all, i have a tablet Panasonic FZ B2 under android 6.0. On production , on some tablet we have the mobicontrol agent on this version : 13.33.1010 who is installed. Normally, all apk who is installled on a device can be find on sdcard / android / data / I'm not an expert but i remember have read this on stackoverflow :) well, i would like to get an old client mobicontrol version number 13 33 1010 but i can't ! I've try to download on soti web site some old APK but the version 13 33 1010 doesn't exist .. Any idea about how to get this apk ? thanks for your time
Hi I want to copy, not install, an .apk-file with MCStudio. I've tried "Add Files" and "Add Android Apk". Both will try to install the .apk, not just copy it. I've also tried to copy it to something like %sdcard%\Download, but still the same result. Does MCStudio support copying .apk-files, like any other file, or is this something that has been overlooked? I could use a sync rule. But it's not the same as package deployment via profiles.
Do I have to uninstall my existing Android App, everything I want to deploy a package with an updated APK in MobiControl? Here's my workflow: 1. Factory Reset Nokia 8 Android 8.0.1 phone and set up with Android for Work (afw#mobicontrol) and enroll in MobiControl. 2. Build my Android APK, create a Package, and assign Package to Phone 3. Confirm app is up and running 4. Make a change to my Android APK, create new Package 5. Remove old package from Profile and add new Package 6. Save and Assign to phone 7. Install fails with File IO Error Current workaround: 1. Remove old app on phone by looking at Applications in MobiControl, finding the app and clicking remove 2. Redeploy new Package. The problem is that by uninstalling the existing app I am loosing a database that I need to maintain and this is alsoa long and painful process for 60+ phones. Am I missing something here? Thanks, Ciaran
My situation is as follows: 1. Installed AFW on a Nokia 8 running Android 8.1.0 2. Enrolled in Mobicontrol 3. Created Package with my APK and assigned to Profile 4. Assigned Profile to Devices - Install Success 4. Made an update to my App and created new APK 5. Removed old Package from Profile 6. Create new Package with new APK and assigned to Profile 7. Assigned Profile to Devices - Install Failed with IO Error Upon inspection it seems like Google Play Protect is preventing the app install. The only workaround is to manually go into settings on each phone and disable Google Play Protect. Once I do this the install succeeds. Is anyone aware of this issue / solution?
I rolled back the package version on an update that went out, and since then every install has failed. The previous package version also does not show the previous package version installed anymore, yet all still have the old version of our internal apk installed. I was able to get one of the remote devices by sending an uninstall script to the failed device, then clicked "Retry Profile Installation", and this updated the apk properly. However, this has one glaring flaw: by doing this, I lose all of the preferences stored in the app, which presents a problem with so many devices out in the field. Is there a way to force a reinstall of the apk? MobiControl doesn't want to install over the existing application, even though the new one has a higher version number and version code.
Hi All, We are using SOTI V13 with majority android plus devices. We are struggling to get vendors to provide us with APKs to push to our devices and provide updated APKs when required. I see we can put them in an "app catalogue" but this seems to just provide a link to a play store but the majority of our devices are shared devices in lockdown. I've also see within mobile iron you can pull an APK in from the play store. does anyone have any suggestions / advice?
