Hi everyone, we are planning to migrate our Soti installation to the cloud, 20.000 + devices. Currently we have one MS server and 8 DP servers (4 DMZ / 4 internal). Has anyone done this before, what are your experiences with MobiControl in the cloud. Are there any restrictions? Thank you for your feedback Mark
I am unable to remove IDP User groups that have been added to my cloud tenant. The delete button is not available like it is with local user accounts that have been created. What am I missing?
I have a 14.2.2 MobiControl Cloud instance that was working fine with Remote Control until the trial of SOTI Assist was activated. Now every time an attempt is made to Remote Control a device this error comes up. Has anybody seen this? Since it's a cloud instance I am likely at the mercy of SOTI support to get this resolved if it requires managing anything at the server level but I'd still like to get an idea of what is going wrong.
Hi, is there a limit on how much (GB) data we can upload to File Manager under File Sync Rule as shown below? Thanks!
Hi We are looking at migrating from On-Prem to Cloud (1000 devices). However it seems like there are some limitations, most notably no file sync of on-premise resources (and the File Manager is not the answer, if resources are being updated on-premise).It would be useful and if there was some kind of on-prem File Sync component that worked with Cloud. Just wanted to reach out to the wider community - has any one migrated from on-prem to Cloud and do you have any experiences to share? Good/Bad etc. It seems to me to be sensible to go Cloud for a new deployment, but is it worth migrating an existing feature rich on-prem instance to Cloud?
I have recently received a request from SOTI support asking me to delete old packages off of a MobiControl cloud instance because it is apparently out of storage space. I feel like this is a completely unprofessional ask given the expectation for a cloud service to be more flexible and scalable based on usage. It would appear that the instance was manually audited to determine there were subjectively "old" packages in the first place which also feels somewhat invasive. What if there weren't old package versions and we legitimately needed to use that space in the instance? I would like a more clear message around this as otherwise I don't believe I can continue to recommend the cloud offering.

Hi everyone and RC, wondering if anyone has setup a shared Build Directory to sync .mcp/.pcg and contained files between multiple users. Maybe using a URL? I have tried this with minimal effort but when pointing the Build Dir to a syncd cloud server, it specifies the C:\ user path, which is also different for our Mac engineers. Thanks!
I am looking for the best way to get an email alert each time a device is enrolled. We have devices returning from depot service from a shared spare pool. This means that I must delete/unenroll my damaged device before sending to depot, because I will not always be getting the same device back from depot. It is possible that a previously used and now repaired device will return from depot at a later time. I tried using the "Add new device" Event from the Alert Rule wizard, which covers the new device (that's never been enrolled with MobiControl) scenario. The problem is this method does not alert me if a device that has been previously enrolled is re-enrolled. I need both to work. As a workaround, we have applied a single profile to devices and are using a "Profile installed" Event to send email alerts to appropriate teams. This is not ideal, as we are sending a useless package just for the sake of an alert rule. Can anyone help me with a more simplified alert process that is triggered every time a device is enrolled?
Hello. Is it possible to set up MobiControl Cloud as an additional management and deployment server for a local (on Premise) installation? Regards,
How do I resolve this root certificate issue in a MobiControl Cloud instance?
What are the options for configuring a Library Path for a MobiControl Cloud instance? Does SOTI provide access to any local storage within the cloud hosted server? Can you leverage some sort of external SFTP share?
Hi all, We are currently rolling out 18x Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (running Android 7.0) to our drivers. The main purpose of these devices is to allow our drivers to use an app called PTV Navigator. This app has a bunch of additional content it uses such as maps, voice speakers and other assorted maps. I have been able to successfully push out all the necessary packages for the PTV Navigator to work EXCEPT all of the maps.In total, the maps files are around 5GB in size and is taking around 4-5 hours to push and install on the tablets via the MobiControl Cloud service. The map files are absolutely necessary for PTV Navigator to work, otherwise it defeats the purpose. My question is, what is the most efficient and quickest way to get these map files onto the device? Keeping in mind there will be map upgrades in the future that will also need to be pushed to the tablets. What I have tried: 1) Pushing the map files through MobiControl Cloud takes around 4-5 hours as previously stated. 2) Copy the map files from the SD card to internal storage using a script and then push out a profile with the same files. I would think MobiControl would automatically recongise the files are already on the tablet, so it would just mark the profile as "Installed". This is not the case as according to SOTI support, it does not have any hash or checksum on the files and only reads the last modified date. 3) Attempted to force PTV Navigator to read the map files from the SD card and then later on swap out the SD card with updated maps. PTV Navigator is refusing to read maps stored on SD card. 4) Use an app called AndSMB to copy the map files from a local NAS, but this was super slow as well! Please help with this enquiry. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. B
We would like to sync photos from all 500 Android mobile devices to the cloud, approximately 5MB of photos per device per month. Is there any storage space constraint?
