Automate SSL Certificate Updates / MobiControl Administration Utility

Hello, I am using Certify the Web, a GUI tool for automatically renewing SSL certificates for free via Let's Encrypt.  This is working great and it creates new SSL certificates in my Certificate Store on my Windows Server like clockwork (because of scheduled tasks). Certify The Web My only complaint is that while I can automate the renewal, I cannot automate the certificate bindings to update in the MobiControl Administration Utility under "Certificates." Is there an API call or command line utility we can use? Thanks

    SSL issue with WiFi connection

Hi, Some devices (Android+) cannot connect to the MobiControl server (v14) once we enable the WiFi. Sometimes, they are connected few minutes but most of the time, once we switch from network mobile to Wifi, few minutes later we loose the connection between devices and SOTI server. Below is the part of the log file: 2020-06-22 14:53:25.423|AsyncTask #112|I|AP|[BroadcastService] Broadcast message received [android.net.wifi.RSSI_CHANGED] ContextIntent[Intent { act=android.net.wifi.RSSI_CHANGED flg=0x4000010 (has extras) }]|2020-06-22 14:53:25.443|AsyncTask #112|D|AP|[net.soti.mobicontrol.dm.d.k:358] SSID: "indestat-cisco"|2020-06-22 14:53:25.869|Thread-18|I|AP|Screen data 30717 bytes sent|2020-06-22 14:53:26.011|[f][137698610]|W|AP|[net.soti.comm.communication.d.a.a.a:92] Connected state failed with SSL Error|javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Read error: ssl=0x7d97650808: I/O error during system call, Software caused connection abort at com.android.org.conscrypt.NativeCrypto.SSL_read(Native Method) at com.android.org.conscrypt.NativeSsl.read(NativeSsl.java:407) at com.android.org.conscrypt.ConscryptFileDescriptorSocket$SSLInputStream.read(ConscryptFileDescriptorSocket.java:579) at net.soti.comm.communication.c.f.a(SourceFile:61) at net.soti.comm.communication.c.h.a(SourceFile:56) at net.soti.comm.communication.c.h.b(SourceFile:69) at net.soti.comm.communication.c.h.a(SourceFile:31) at net.soti.comm.communication.d.a.a.a(SourceFile:82) at net.soti.comm.communication.d.a.c.run(SourceFile:33) at java.util.concurrent.Executors$RunnableAdapter.call(Executors.java:459) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(FutureTask.java:266) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:1167) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:641) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:764)|2020-06-22 14:53:26.012|[f][137698610]|D|AP|[net.soti.comm.communication.d.a.c.run:34] state[f] onActivateFinished()|2020-06-22 14:53:26.013|[f][137698610]|D|AP|[net.soti.comm.communication.d.a.f.j_:35] Disconnecting|2020-06-22 14:53:26.013|Outgoing|I|AP|[net.soti.comm.communication.d.a.a$a.run:178] Interrupted|2020-06-22 14:53:26.014|[f][137698610]|D|AP|[net.soti.comm.communication.d.b.b:100] Request to switch from CONNECTED to DISCONNECTING| I think that issue is from the WiFi router but I don't know how to explain it to our customer and what to ask him to do/check. Something strange is that one of 10 devices which is connected to the same SSID and same router is always connected to SOTI with WiFi connection... I also found something strange, of the device was connected during more than 1 hour to SOTI server, I connected to it by using remote control, I found that SOTI agent was displayed on the device on SOTI configuration page, but once I clicked on samsung home button, I suddenly lost the connection, after that this device was always disconnected from SOTI server...  Your help will be welcome. Thanks

Win CE 6.0 connect and disconnect

Hello everybody, I have the following problem with my WIN CE 6.0 devices: we have a new server (windows 2012R2) with SOTI MobiControll V.14.3.3.1111 installed. It is an internal server in the closed network. Android, Win10 IoT and WinCE 6.5 are all connected and work wonderfully. The WinCE6.0 devices connect and after a few minutes they disconnect and stay disconnected until they are rebooted. in the logfile comes the following message: (0x00001090) [INFO ] [ 27] PulseChecker enter: Send: False, Check: True, Memory: 167939184, ThreadPool: 32767, 999, Queue: 0, Workers: 8 (0x00001090) [INFO ] [ 27] PulseChecker exit: Total: 22, Connected: 22, Busy: 0, Dropped: 0, Retried: 0, finished in 0 ms (0x000003e4) [INFO ] <165> Comm.Client.166171: Accepted a new connection from [::ffff:192.xxx.xxx.121]:49161. (0x000003e4) [INFO ] <165> Comm.Client.166172: Accepted a new connection from [::ffff:192.xxx.xxx.212]:53569. (0x000003e4) [WARN ] <165> Comm.Client.166172: Certificate validation failed. SSL Policy Error: RemoteCertificateChainErrors. Status: PartialChain. On the old server (Win 2008R2), everything worked fine with version 13 of Soti MobiControll. Can someone tell me why this could be and what I can do about it? greetings Georg

    Installing/binding/using third-party SSL cert Solved

I have received documentation in the past that was a patchwork of links to different locations and I'm hoping there is something better out there.  I have two servers I'm maintaining with third-party SSL certs and I feel like I'm walking on very thin ice every time I touch this area.

Problems with MobiControl WebConsole SSL certificate Solved

Hi, we are facing issues with the SSL certificate for MobiControl WebConsole. Please, see the scheenshots below. We are using the latest version of Chrome however we have same issue when we tried Microsoft Edge. Moreover this issue is preventing us from using the normal remote control (non HTML5). It keeps downloading the SotiRemoteControl plugin (SotiRemoteControlInstaller.msi)  even though it is already installed (see last screenshot for browser error). Please, advise how can we resolve this.

How to establish trust for SSL certificates over LDAP (LDAPS)? Solved

I've combed through the documentation and google-fu'd to the best of my ability, but while there's an explicit means to "Accept Untrusted Certificates" there is no documentation (that I've found) on where to establish trust for SSL certificates for LDAP by MC.The root certificate of the CA that signed our SSL certificate for LDAP is present in the certificates store (in windows) of the machine that MC is installed on. I have also been in the MCAdmin Utility and perused the Certificates section, but none of the sub-sections there appear to have any indication that they would be related to establishing trust for LDAPS.Any assistance is appreciated.
