Hello, I have some Samsung tablets in Kiosk mode that I deploy Microsoft Word and Excel via the Managed Google Play Store. When trying to open a document that lives on the tablet (/sdcard/Documents/) for the first time, Word or Excel shows a prompt "To browse Office files, photos, and media, you'll need to allow access to all files in Settings" Not Now | Go to Settings When I press Go to Settings from within a Kiosk screen, Kiosk blocks the settings page to enable Access to all files for Word / Excel. Exiting Kiosk does allow me to enable the permissions, however a user would not be able to grant those permissions from Kiosk mode if Kiosk is blocking the prompt. I did a bit of research for granting the permissions using a Legacy script, but have not been successful. I have tried these, but none of them granted the permission to Access all files:afw_set_permission_grant_state com.microsoft.office.word android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.microsoft.office.word android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE allowafw_set_permission_grant_state com.microsoft.office.word android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE allow Device: Samsung Tab A7 LiteAndroid 11SOTI MobiControl Agent version 15.1.5 1049SOTI MobiControl Console version 15.3 Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Hello We are using Zebra TC21 scanners, that we lock down via device control with authentication policy as disable lock screen As these are in production environments the supervisors have the admin password to unlock the scanners so they can perform a data storage clear of a Dynamics NAV app that occasionally goes haywire. My question is how can I set a timer that automatically reenables the agent mode after a set time or can I run a script that will re-enable it, as the supervisors sometimes forget? additionally is there a script to clear the storage for a given installed application? any help would be appreciated.
Hi everyone, I got around 250 devices enrolled to MC v15.2.3.1033 Recently i applied File Sync Rule to all devices to collect JSON file from each devices to server. 1 file size around 800kb-1MB. I collect it daily, means around 250MB collect daily from all devices. I used Subfolder with device tree path. My question is, is there any way we can delete file from SOTI File System with kind of filter : Example : bulk delete all JSON file > 7 days Reason being is i am afraid it will loaded the cloud server since in 1 month it will be 7.5 GB size of data.
Hi, I have an issue where the built-in app Google keeps crashing on Zebra TC26 terminals running Android 10. As far as I can figure out, the package name is: com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox So I found out that clearing the storage and clearing the cache and then rebooting the device solves the issue. I have a few hundred of these devices with this error, so I need to do it by script. Preferrably schedule it once every day. Tried this command from SOTI MobiControl, but it seemed it did nothing: wipeapplication com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox How can I do this? Regards Jarl
Hi all, We are currently working with some Unitech TB85 tablets - staged using Android for Work. I am trying to send a script where possible to change the default storage location of the camera - and started down the path of using 'watchsettings' However Soti reports this script is not supported by the device. Are there any alternatives to this that can produce the same results please? I have tried some variations of the writesecuresetting command, but without knowing the actual setting this is just pot luck at this stage. Any help greatly appreciated. Leigh
I've been asked to report on data from the beginning of the year (2+ months old now) and currently on any report I run it only shows me back to 2 weeks old. I don't remember this being the case before and I can't easily see a setting to change this.I'm guessing SOTI is only keeping data for 2 weeks and then wiping it, which seems crazy and so surely I must be able to change a setting somewhere to ask it to store for at least 6 months? Any clarification would be much appreciated.
Hi, I'm getting the following message on a Galaxy Samsung J1 device when in the lock screen "Enter password for credential storage". I've checked all the obvious permissions and can't see what may be causing it. The logs suggest something re the password? I've got other devices with the same profile "Core Prime" but the message doesn't appear on those? Client version 13.5 Android 4.4.4 Has anyone got any ides on what may be causing it? 2018-08-13 16:01:41.106|pool-1-thread-1|I|AP|[PasswordOrPolicyChangedListener.ensureKeyguardQuality][run] Requesting keystore unlock ..|2018-08-13 16:01:41.175|pool-1-thread-1|D|AP|[BlacklistChecker][isBlocked] component: ComponentInfo{net.soti.mobicontrol.elm.samsung/net.soti.mobicontrol.device.security.KeyStoreUnlockActivity} is allowed settings component: true|2018-08-13 16:01:41.196|pool-1-thread-1|D|AP|[KeyStoreUnlockActivity][doOnCreate] this activity just starts another android activity|2018-08-13 16:01:41.219|pool-1-thread-1|W|AP|[KeyStoreUnlockActivity][onActivityResult] keystore state=REQUIRE_STORAGE_PASSWORD|
