I want to lockdown and not show the status bar, but I also want to show the wifi signal/connection, battery, etc settings gained by SOTI from Zebra. If I have Zebra Android Enterprise devices is this possible? Sorry should have been more specific. They didn't want the bar. Was trying to add to the actual lock-down HTML. Sorry I was not more specific. Thanks
Hi I'm trying to disable Wi-Fi on a Zebra TC77 (Device owner) with this script setradioenable wifi 0. It works, however it also disconnects the MobilControl agent and the cellular connection which I'm trying to use. And this makes it impossible to re-connect when the device is i another Country. The same script setradioenable wifi 0 sent to a TC75 (Device admin) gives me the wanted result and I still have connection to the device in MobiControl, so that I'm able to enable Wi-Fi again if needed. I did try to switch the sim cards between the devices without any luck. MobiControl version: 14.3.4 TC77 OEM 01-21-18.00-OG-U00-STD TC75 OEM 02-10-02-LG-00-A So I'm wondering if I'm doing it all wrong here ? Best regards Allan
I had and interesting situation handed to me today. I display the device serial number in the title of the SOTI Kiosk. Even with Disable Copy / Paste feature enabled. The end user can long press on the serial number which brings up the Copy popup. This allows the user to get to the PHONE and other features. Still running: Server 14.1.2 Agent: 13.8.0.1047 Android: 8.1.0 Management: AEDO Thoughts?
Hello, is it in SOTI possible to read the BSP version of the devices (Zebra TC77) and move the devices automatically with a rule dependent on the BSP version into a another group? Example: If device 123 = version BSP 1.xx -> automatically in group "Update". If device 123 = version BSP 2.xx -> automatically in group "Update already done". SOTI Server: 14.3.3 Devices: Zebra TC77 (Andoid) Thank you. Daniel
Hi, I have a device that I have had in our live system many times that won't enroll now! I am provisioning the device as an Enterprise device by scanning a QR code from the GMS screen but it keeps failing on the Connection To Server screen. The device will enroll into our test system straight away but when I try to enroll back into the Live system it just fails. The logs from the MobiControl application just say "Connection to server failed" Is there a cache or something that I can clear that will help with this? I've tried to perform a factory reset several times and replace the OS on the device. The device is a Zebra TC77.
Hello, is it possible to integrate a TC77 Device in SOTI without an WorkProfile? The Devices have no Internet Connection :) best regards from Germany :)
One of my supervisors in the field has reported that workers are getting past the lockdown kiosk by constantly hitting the recent apps button on the device. He claims that they have been able to get into areas that allow them to make phone calls and send text messages. I have been able to duplication the problem partially. When "pounding recent apps button" I have gotten an app that was in the background to stay in the foreground. While I am still skeptical about the functions they have reported getting into, I am still researching. If the Kiosk can be bypassed this easily, then it is not much good. Thoughts? In the Windows CE world, I always manually controlled when my applications updated in MobiControl by moving devices to new release folders. Yeah, I know that is not how most installations do it. I did this for several reasons. The first devices I managed (Psion 7530/7535s) were highly unreliable on their installations. Under Windows CE the executable sizes were small and finally I found the scheduling in the early versions of MobiControl to be unreliable with Windows CE. Now I am diving into the Android world with both feet due to the shutdown of 3G Cell. While it seems Android is more reliable about installations, the install size of the applications is huge compared to Windows CE and let's not talk about patch sizes. My issue is that my devices are very often stored in areas that contain a lot of concrete and steel which by nature makes cell connections hit and miss. All devices are supposed to be put in networked cradles every night, but we all know how that goes :-/. So I have come to the conclusion that I NEED to evaluate methods of utilizing the options within MobiControl that allow for a scheduled delivery. What I would like to accomplish is to have a profile with the new versions of my applications get pre-staged on the device and then when the time comes that I what them installed, the installation gets triggered and the installation happens quickly. I thought I had figured it out and attempted to set up an install using scheduled profiles for tonight. What a mess! Fortunately I am still in the the 100+ devices, but over the next month I will be sitting with over 1000 devices. Since the Agile development is going on, everyone things that we can have deployments every two weeks...... in my opinion not a pretty site. My problem tonight what that I had Profile A with version 1 of the app and I attempted to assign Profile B with version 2 of the app. I set an install date far into the future as I only wanted the apps to download but not install. My plan was to replace Profile B with a Clone of Profile B without the schedule associated with it. I didn't get to first base as Profile B failed because it said the a version of the application already existed on the device. I thought I had this whole thing worked out in my Dev environment. So, I am looking for advise, how are others accomplishing this. My applications are line of business applications and the versions that are supported are tightly controlled by the development teams (they rarely support more than 1 version). Environment: MobiControl 14.1.2 Agent: 13.6.0.1662 Android Management: AEDO Device: Zebra TC77 Locked down in Kiosk Mode Shared by multiple users Any advise appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
Does anyone have documentation on the format of Zebra / SOTI .upl file? I would like to do several Android patches at one time and am trying to user an .upl file. The issue I have is that I am not storing the patches on the root of the SDCARD but in /SDCARD/Patches. I am not quite sure how to correctly specify the path. Thoughts? Thanks.
