Disable Wi-Fi on Zebra TC77 without disconnecting the Agent

Hi

I'm trying to disable Wi-Fi on a Zebra TC77 (Device owner) with this script setradioenable wifi 0. It works, however it also disconnects the MobilControl agent and the cellular connection which I'm trying to use. And this makes it impossible to re-connect when the device is i another Country.

The same script setradioenable wifi 0 sent to a TC75 (Device admin) gives me the wanted result and I still have connection to the device in MobiControl, so that I'm able to enable Wi-Fi again if needed.

I did try to switch the sim cards between the devices without any luck.

MobiControl version: 14.3.4

TC77 OEM 01-21-18.00-OG-U00-STD

TC75 OEM 02-10-02-LG-00-A

So I'm wondering if I'm doing it all wrong here ?

Best regards

Allan

What are the version and build numbers of your device agent?

I don't have any Zebra TC77 to do any test, but I'll do the following if I were you:

1.  If you haven't installed Android Enterprise plug-in to your AE-DO device, do so and see if there is any difference.

2   Make sure you have granted all app permissions of MobiControl device agent in the device Settngs

3. Toggle on/off the low-power mode on the device

Can you also elaborate on whether or not setradioenable wifi 0 is unintentionally disabling the Cellular radio as well? It's not exactly clear from your initial description.

If the problem is just losing MobiControl agent communication when transitioning to a cellular connection perhaps you could include a connect -f script along with the wifi toggle script to force a reconnect?

Hi

Thank you for your comments. I tried your suggestions and none of them worked.

However I found out that it was my own fault as an APN setting was applied (which I had forgotten).

Sorry to have bothered you
