Failover LDAP-Server

Hey Guys,

we're testing a Failover this month, where our Primary Domaincontroller gets off for a few hours. My question is: how do you set a failover LDAP-Server in Soti? I only can set up a single server in the Config:

Do I have to create a new LDAP-Config similar to the active one and only change the Server-Name? How did you set up the LDAP Configuration with multiple Domain-Controllers?

Thank you!

Hi Daniel,

I would imagine that you would achieve the failover one would be looking to accomplish, by simply adding a second DC.  However, our Product Managers would like to know more about what features you plan on using in your environment, such as Profiles, Multi-user, what type of device enrollments you expect to utilize, etc...

Please give us some more details and I will confirm if this is the correct way to configure a 2nd DC in an MC environment.

What is mobicontrol version you using? If ver. 13.4 you can add second ldap server and once primary ldap server is down for maintenance, users can still login with second ldap server. But if ver. 14.x then you can have only one ldap connection. If you add 2 ldap connection servers it add users with separate ldap ID and there might be login issues even though both ldap servers are online. Solution would be to use ldap load balancer and use that LB DNS name to configure single ldap server.
