Based on online manual for each versions of MobiControl,  Express/Standard/Enterprise editions of different Microsoft SQL various versions (out of 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016) are supported.

What do you mean by using SQL PaaS?  Can you list any vendor you have in mind and what product(s) they offer?  Will your MobiControl servers be on-premises or on the cloud?

Hi Moses,

Correct me if I'm wrong but Azure SQL Paas is a SQL monitoring tool for Microsoft's cloud (Azure) SQL installations?

From our previous inquiries with our internal teams the versions of SQL that Raymond mentions are the "supported versions" of SQL and we do not include Azure SQL installations in this list.  I have provided a link to our "system requirements" page which includes Database Requirements to allow the features of MC, hopefully this helps some.

https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.0/en/setup/installing/system_requirements.html

However this being the case we have had other inquiries from clients who insist on using (Azure) SQL installations as their preferred choice for hosting their DB.  I believe the answer at that time was that we cannot confirm how well Azure works with MobiControl or if it is compatible at all with the features of MobiControl.

I can tell you that some users have reported using it successfully and some have mentioned issues with this format.   So in short,  you may be the best person to answer your question as we have not tested Azures Paas compatibility for monitoring unsupported versions of the DB.

Feel free to open a case with support and file a feature request and/or update this post with your feedback as I'm sure others will have this question in the future.

I hope this helps,
