Hello Ben,

You are correct that there are feature requests regarding this desired feature on Android devices.  However, with that being the case, many of the requests reverted back to the documentation as it used to state that this was possible with Android, and in actuality, it may have been depending on the version of MobiControl and the device OS.  The documentation has been updated to advise that it will add to shortcut to the "default browser" now.

Just for the record, this is still possible on iOS devices and can be added to the default browser on Samsung devices enrolled as Android plus and Android Enterprise DO, using the existing functionality.

Regardless, there are still a couple of requests to have the "webclips" added to the home screen of the device.  I suggest you contact support to create a case here and file your own feature request if this is necessary for your businesses use case.

With regards to a lockdown, it would place a custom home screen from which you have granular control over what can and cannot be accessed on the device.  Essentially, everything on that screen is a "webclip/bookmark" of sorts as it will open only that specific application, browser or functionality.

Here is a picture of a typical SOTI lockdown so that you have an idea if this will work for your use case.

There is a way to achieve this with App Policies (catalog rule).

In the Managed Google Play iframe, create a web app. All you need is the url and an icon image.

When this app is deployed, an icon in the homescreen is created. Just like iOS webclips. :)
