Hi,

I am in the middle of testing this myself, but has anyone any knowledge they can share on any implications of declining the google service permissions presented during the google setup wizard ?

My case is for fully managed devices but happy to hear for any other cases too.

TIA

Adam

How you are enrolling?

If you enroll via Zero-Touch (QR or Portal), then you can use DPC-Extra Codes. Maybe there's one which can be used for this case (the one in the link is only an example but all the others can be found there also):

Hi Rafael,

Thank you for your answer, the suggested DPC extras is a great idea so I will certainly look into this. as we are either ZTE or QRCode.

However what I need to understand - Our client has requested to decline all permissions at this stage - potentially done via the DPC ;)

What I dont know is what impact declining these permissions have on the SOIT management, manage google playstore etc.

Thanks
Adam

Not sure but i think in general all location based services (like locate the device, working with geofences,...) maybe won't work.

Hello Adam,

Thank you for your reply.

You can disable the Google Services as you are enrolling the device as Work Managed.

However, if you are planning on using Managed Google Play account, it might have an effect depending which permissions you've disabled.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

HI KCMOD,

Thank you for the reply.

We will indeed be using Managed google play accounts.

If possible, are you able to specify the effects of disabling each of these permissions?

Thank you

Adam

Hello Adam,

Thank you for your reply!
If "Use location" is disabled, it can affect the Location feature in MobiControl.

The rest of the permissions should not impact the performance of the device.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind regards,
