Hi

Just wondering if anyone tried setting up an icon in non kiosk mode to run a legacy script?

I am aware this is currently available on kiosk mode via "Custom - script:///sdcard/ScriptGoesHere.cmd"

Any idea ? Thanks a lot

I'm not aware of any options for doing so. Is there any reason you're not using the Kiosk mode on a Zebra Android device? Most Zebra Android device use cases I've encountered are for line of business functions and therefore use a lockdown of some kind almost 100% of the time.

Thanks Matt,

I do agree, I have not had to deal with too many Zebra builds on non kiosk mode.

I would think you could potentially just add all of the apps the end users actually need access to within the kiosk including typically restricted options like the Settings app if the end users need more than what kiosk mode typically allows. You could basically make kiosk mode less restrictive so that they could still use it without as many blockers (assuming that's the issue) while still giving them access to run scripts.

Hey Walid,

Thanks for posting on SOTI pulse. Thanks Matt for responding to the post, your expertise and willingness to help are greatly appreciated!

Yes, like Matt mentioned we currently don't have an option to implement what you're looking for. In Kiosk Mode, we have full control over the Lockdown Template and can implement more functionalities but on the actual device launcher it is a bit more tricky. As mentioned by Matt you can add all the applications required to the Lockdown and use this as a workaround. Thank you!!
