How to disable/hide the navigation bar on Android

Solved

I need to hide the bottom navigation bar while the device is in lockdown mode.
Is this possible to do through SOTI MobiControl?

Device model:     APPC-10X-Series
Device family:     Android plus
Android version: 8.1.0
Enrollment:          Android Classic
Agent version:    15.2.0.1025

Sort of answer: apparently this specific device model has a toggle called 'status bar' in the settings app to completely disable both the bottom navigation bar and the status bar at the top of the screen.

Which Mobicontrol Version you are using?

We are currently using latest so i can tell you only what's possible there:
If you use "Native" in the lockdown profile you can enable "" which also disables the navigation buttons (if the tooltip is correct).

Just a hint: I can't see APPC devices in the Android Enterprise Recommended list, so it can be that they don't support full functionality.

Our current MobiControl Version is '15.6.3.1018'.

There is no 'Native' option in the lockdown profile. I do have that option in 'Work Managed' lockdown profiles that I use for Enterprise devices, but not in this 'Classic' lockdown profile.
My only two options are 'Package Blocking' and 'Activity Suppression'. Both these options have the same options: 'Samsung Package Disabling', 'Revert to kiosk mode' and 'Status Bar Settings'.

Would you perhaps know of a script or something that can disable navigation bar?

Sorry missed that Classic in your information.

I think it's not possible in Classic.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for posting on SOTI Pulse, thanks Rafael for responding to the post.

On Android Classic devices enrolled through SOTI MobiControl, it is possible to show notifications or status bar items for apps that are authorized for use in Lockdown Mode.

However, completely disabling the notification/status bar system-wide on Android Classic is not supported.

This feature is available for Android Enterprise enrolled devices using Lockdown Mode.

If you have any further issues or queries, please feel free to ask. We are here to assist you.

Kind regards,

Good afternoon,

I cannot find any way to completely hide the android navigation bar on our devices while on lockdown with single app mode on.

We are working with Android Enterprise profiles

I did try with writeproofsetting scripts but not sure I have the right one.

The bar is already disabled but best would be to be able to hide it or at least replace it with the gestures navigation.

Thanks a lot for your help!
