Start Soti Surf in Downloads activity from Android Lockdown

Is there a posibility to start Soti Surf from a lockdown shortcut directly in Downloads screen?

I'm using Surf for one of our internal web apps, and endusers are downloading pdf documents and photos.

I'm looking for a way to give endusers access to that downloaded files (without access to other files, so shortcut for myfiles or other file explorers is a no go)

Tried to check the activity for the Downloads screen in SOTI.

Current activity name: net.soti.surf/.ui.activities.DownloadContentActivity

Are there some sendintent scripts that could work?

MC Version: 15.6.3.1018

Devices used: Zebra with Android 10/11/13

Thanks in advance

Hi Alin,

have you tried to add your found activity name as an item to the lockdown already?

You may open the download folder but I'm not sure how to restrict users to access other folders.

To access download folder, on my Samsung device below intent works well:

android.intent.action.VIEW_DOWNLOADS

Tried this. Indeed it opens the Downloads folder (using the file manager app), but unfortunatly the enduser with 1, 2 taps can access the entire internal memory of the device.

Soti Surf was my best option, if it could be launched directly into Downloads section, since it's listing only the files downloaded with the browser, but i think it's not launchable directly into that activity. Maybe someone who's more expert with scripting and intents can have an ideea.

Thanks for you feedback

Hi Alin,

Sure, I understand. Although the download folder can be accessed, the challenge lies in the impracticality of restricting access for the user. This is due to the need to block multiple activities and organize bundle IDs or activity IDs for each one, which can be a time-consuming process.
