My Problem is, that my Device says the Package is Installed. The Thing is I don´t find it on the device or in the app. It´s the first time Im trying this out, thats why I took an apk document from the phone, put it in Package Studio and then add it to the Packages. At the end I did a Profile with the Package inside and connecting it to the one device Im trying on. After that Im tried to Force reinstall, but now it stucks in that mode.

So how can I install the App corectly that it really Install the Package and dont just says I did it and he didnt done it?

Hi Tanja,

I do not completely understand what you are trying to do exactly? Do you want to install an APK on your smartphone?

In Package Studio you can create a project where you are able to insert APK files (Android) or other files.

APK files are being installed on your phone, other files are placed in the directory you have chosen in the Package-Studio project.

What you described in your post were patchy and unclear.

Could you please clarify if you have any apk file in your package? Or just a document of the apk file in a package?

Also, what do you mean when you said "it stucks in that mode"?  What are reported in the server/device logs and what is displayed on the device screen?

yeah sorry Im not the best one in English,

so I already used Package Studio how you say it. I took an APK file and put it in the Package Studio. After the Build I took it into the Soti MobiControl and then into the Profile. The Problem here is it says it installed it into the device, but I dont find it anywhere. After that I tried to force the reinstall, but now it is stuck in that mode.

I need help in that point, that I want that the device is showing the app or that it really install the app. I cant say if I did there something wrong. The APK file is alright. And it stucked in the mode "Force ReInstall" for now 2 hours.

So if you want to install an APK file, use the option "Insert APK file" when adding it to the package in Package Studio.

The other steps you described seem to be correct.

The profile should install the contents of the package correctly. You can check if the APK is installed by verifying on the phone itself or by checking the "Installed Applications" section on the web console.

How is the device being managed? You have Android Enterprise listed, are you using Work Profile or Device Owner?

Im Using Work Profiles. I created one for Android Enterprise and then added the package inside of it. After that I assigned it with the Device. And I looked into the Applications and the Package isnt found there

What are the version and build numbers of your MobiControl server and device agent?

What about the active MDM API's reported on the configuration tab of the device agent or in the device information tab in the web console?

so the MobiControl server is on the newest version (14.3.3 build 3144) and the device agent is from the google play so I would say the newest itself. There I dont found a version number or build number

According to official release note, deployment of AE packages to work profile is supported from v14.3.0 onwards, though I haven't test this feature myself, as all of my customers use managed-device mode rather than work profile mode. So, your server version should be OK.  But you still have to check the agent version and active MDM API's.

As said in previous post,  the version and build numbers of your MobiControll device agent and the active MDM API's  can be found on the configuration tab of the device agent or in the device information tab in the web console.

ok found it, the device agent is version 13.7.2 build 1015. the Activ MDM API is: Work Profile, Android Plus 1.5, Remote View (1.16.0.100)

Normally, Work Profile API and Android Plus API cannot co-exist on the same device.   Are you sure you haven't misread anything?  Could you please show a screenshot of the configuration tab of your device agent?

As said in earlier post, what you have seems abnormal.  I've just done a quick test on my v14.3.3 test server and deploying pcg package to my Samsung test device in work-profile mode is confirmed to be OK.  The "Timer" app in the following screenshot is the pcg package deployed.

If you can't see the "Personal" and "Work" selection near the bottom, or you can't find any apps with the blue suitcase added in bottom-right corner of its app icon, then maybe you haven't enrolled your device properly into Android-Enterprise Work-Profile mode.  Retry your enrollment.  If problem still persists, I suggest you to open an official support ticket with Soti support team to follow up.
