Alerts is being replaced by Signal Policies, but doesn't support applying to single devices

I used to use the Alerts to alert me when a device that has been offline for a longer period comes back online, or when a device comes online that is in need of my immidiate attention.

Now SOTI has shifted the alerts to Signal Policies, but that doesn't meet my needs since you can only apply this to groups.

There surely is a way around that by making a separate group with all the same Profiles and Policies, and move the device there. But it would be more suitable for me when you can simply apply the Signal Policy to single devices too instead of just whole groups.

Also the possibility to set up a filter would be good here as well but I think for both you need to raise a feature request to Soti directly.

Hi Alex,

I just realized this now. In addition to what Rafael said, you may add additional condition such as IP address or Custom data or such. And also, you may prefer to target the group by selecting the Virtual Group and use some advanced filters on the Virtual Group Configurations.

But in order of using custom data you need to be on 2024.?.? as on our 15.6.5 custom data is not available to be used but in our test environment on 2024.1.0.

Hi Rafael,

AFAIK yes, there is no Custom Data filter option "under Signal Policy" on MobiControl 15.6. But it should be okay with 2024 version.

Unfortunately, we do not have this feature in current MobiControl versions.

It would be greatly appreciated if you can create a support ticket (click here) or call the SOTI Technical Support team (click here) to raise a Feature Request for incorporating this feature to select multiple devices while assigning any Signal policies and to customize the filters used in the Signal policies.

These feature requests should be raised by customers with the assistance from Technical Support.

To provide you with a heads up, this would not be an instant resolution as SOTI Product Team have to work internally with different departments to get this added into the next release. So, this may take weeks to get it included in the new build. Please follow the release notes of SOTI MobiControl to get an update on the improvements done on the new release.
