Can't download CSV of devices

VIGO SOFTWARE LTD

Hi,

This has been an issue for us for at least a year now (carried out a couple of upgrades to Mobicontrol and never been fixed, has been brought up with support a few times), but it's becoming urgent that we get it working.

When trying to download a CSV, we get:

Not Found

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.

Was advised to check Named Pipes and TCP/IP config in MS SQL, but these are set up correctly.

Anyone seen this before and how we can resolve it?

Interestingly we get a similar error when trying to use web based remote control (plugin works fine), so not sure if the two are related

This site can’t be reached

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

What are the version and build numbers of your MobiControl server and MS SQL server?  Are your two server installed in the same MS Windows Server instance or in two different instances?

Was your MobiControl impelmentation a brand new one about one year ago?  If not, was the MobiControl server upgraded or network/firewall reconfigured at that time?

If so, had you encountered similar problem before the upgrade/reconfiguration?

Mobicontrol version is 15.3.1.1151

Running SQL Server 2019 (had to update when updating to v15)

Only reason I said over a year as that is when I started with the company, apparently it's not worked before then either, but I have no way of knowing!

Though you said you had checked the Named Pipes and TCP/IP config in MS SQL, I believe you had overlooked something. E.g. the ports and protocols of the firewall exception rules between Mobicontrol & SQL servers, the proper installation of SQL module such as SQL browser, etc.

I'm fairly sure everything is set up SQL wise, SQL browser is definitely installed, and the firewall isn't even on (for testing purposes)

Getting the below error in Management Service logs if that helps narrow it down any:

You still haven't answered the question I asked in my first post in this thread.

Are your MobiControl and SQL servers installed in the same MS Windows Server instance or in two different instances?

Regarding SQL Server version,  MobiControl v15.3.1 does support MS SQL Server 2016, and you thus did not need to upgrade your SQL when upgrading to use MobiControl v15   In fact, most of my own biggest governmental customers are still using MS SQL Server 2016.

It seems that things were not working before you joined, and you likely don't exactly know what installation procedure and configurations had been taken. You also had upgraded the SQL server, and possibly also your MobiControl server.  I think you might have overlooked or misconfigured some parameters to values you thought were correct.  Since you haven't revealed (or it may not be too convenient to reveal) your configuration details in this open forum,  I believe you should open an official support ticket with Soti support team to dig down the details.   Based on my previous debug experience on many of my own customers' servers,  I am quite sure the cause of your problem should be related to the TCP/IP mode settings in your SQL & firewall exception on/between your MobiControl & SQL servers .

Hello Alan Alden,

Thank you for requesting a response from SOTI Support Staff.

Reviewing this thread. This seems to be a configuration issue with your MobiControl, SQL and network.

I've also reviewed the SOTI Support ticket which offered more details of the configuration.

Seems the ports maybe the issue based on what I've reviewed so far but would wish to have a better understanding of how things are set.

I would suggest to continue working with Support to review the setup as that would be best to understand the issue your facing.

The following is our network requirements for MobiControl incase this is helpful- https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.3/en/setup/installing/system_requirements.html#ariaid-title2
