MC92N0 SNMP "vulnerability" resolution

RM

Our Security department doesn't like that our Windows CE MC92N0 have default 'PUBLIC' SNMP community name with no password.  I can't find anything in Soti that is using SNMP, and I don't have anything outside of Soti reading SNMP from these devices.

Does anyone see/know of any negative affect by disabling SNMP on these old dinosaurs?

Hi Ryan,

Thank you for posting in SOTI Central.

I suggest you disable the SNMP function in a controlled test environment, which should then highlight any issues with your proposed plan to disable the function on your MC92N0 devices. Additionally, if you're able to, I suggest you contact Zebra Technical Support to clarify it on their side too.

Regards,

After having a dozen devices with SNMP disabled for a few months, I saw no negative impact and ended up disabling on all.
