Hello,

I have a question regarding the Android Lockdown Screen on android+ devices.

When you configure a browser call you can use the prefix "http".
This launches a Browser in a single page mode without the adress bar and settings.

Which Browser is opened here? And can you configure proxy settings for it?

Thanks for your help.

I believe it is launching the default WebView that is installed on the device. Its not a full fledged browser per se, just the WebView that would otherwise be inside of the default browser on the device. I don't believe you're going to have much if any control over the configuration of that WebView.

If you want to have single page mode without the address bar and settings, but also with more control on other aspects. you can consider using Soti Surf in its kiosk mode.

Thanks for your answers.

I'll look into Soti Surf some more.
But I can't seem to find an autoproxy configuration for it either.

I haven't said you can have autoproxy option in Soti Surf.

However, you can have the following options to partially satisfy some of the usual intents of using a proxy server:

- kiosk mode to limit what URL's to be accessible from the browser (e.g. allow all internal sites, and only a few selected external sites).

- intranet gateway using Soti's ERG module  to encrypt and control access to corporate internal sites.

- logs of all internal/external sites accessed.

- disabling of all Soti Surf functions or clearing of all Soti Surf cache data  on any combination of MobiControl supported alert event/status (e.g. rooted/malware detected, geofence entry/exit, etc.).
