Hi,

I would like to use Mobicontroll keyboard this one will disable the keyboard function.
Now i only can enable it manually the first time by going to Setting > Language keyboard and enable Soti Mobicontroll.

I am not familiar with the MobiControl keyboard but just checked and can confirm that there is indeed one listed under the Managed keyboards settings menu. From what I can tell this is a null keyboard that doesn't do anything. What are you hoping to accomplish with this keyboard?

Indeed, and i would like to have that one automaticly set. if thats posible with a script?
We use it because this wont work:
https://discussions.soti.net/thread/soti-surf-keyboard-disable-keyboard-only/

When i use the Soti Surf Disable keyboard function i can't scan anymore.
Keyboard will than be disabled but also the scan function of the device.

You can use Zebra's MX layer to enable and set a default input mechanism as we do this all the time for the Enterprise Keyboard. You'd have to determine what the equivalent Package and Class Name of the MobiControl keyboard are however. You could probably assume the same Class name and then plug in the MobiControl keyboard Package name once you determine what that is.

Hi Matt,

I don't see this option in MX layer, maybe you have a older version installed from the appstore?

I did find it in stagenow from Zebra but how can i import these settings do i need to scan every pda than?

Also can you give me the package name, i check on the PDA and in Soti but can't find that one.

Are you referring to OEMConfig? OEMConfig is one way to distribute MX configurations through the App Store, but my preference is to still create XML in StageNow and distribute it through SOTI as a FileSync of Package and have it applied with the post-install script mxconfig. I am quite surprised that you are not familiar with that concept yet if you are managing Zebra Android devices in SOTI as it is one of the big differentiators originally offered by MobiControl.

You might want to start here:

Matt, this is exactly my problem - I need this MobiControl keyboard Package name.
Do you have any idea? I already googled hours for that - nothing :(

Thanks !

Hi Chris,

Thank you posting in the SOTI CENTRAL.

I've just sent a request to check the usage of Mobicontrol keyboard and the package name. I'll get back to you in due course.

Hi Chris

Following up on this thread, Please avoid using the Mobicontrol keyboard input method as it is only used for Remote Control. Not being able to use MobiControl Keyboard as an input method is an expected behavior. Because, this keyboard is used for handling Unicode characters while RC but it registers on the device as one of IME (Input Method Editor)

Also, if this post has helped you in solving your inquiry, I would request you to mark the particular comment as "is solution", so others may benefit from this information.
