What we've done is create a generic gmail account for contacts and added it as an account to the device.

We have a lockdown screen so no access to email, etc.

Hope you don't mind me hijacking this conversation, i have set up a work managed phone and binded the generic google account to the soti platform but the contacts section isn't working and wont let me add an account as it says this is managed by your administrator. 

Can i ask how you did it your end?
