Report devices matching IP addresses Octets. Can't report on filter group

Hi,


I have a requirement to be able to identify devices that were on a particular site in the middle of the night (outside of my working hours) based on the WiFi IP address that they had at that time.

The obvious solution seems to be to set up a filter group to find those with the octects of interest and set a nightly report to run on this filter group. Whilst setting up the filter group is easy and works, every report I have tried won't work on a filter group.

Can anyone suggest a workaround? I suppose I could run a report containing the IP addresses of all devices each night, then filter the results with a spreadsheet in the morning, but I'd prefer a more automated method.

We faced the same "issue" some weeks ago.
Reports targeting a filter group are always empty while the same report works fine for a static group.

A workaround would be to create custom reports with this filtering in it.

Thank you Rafael. Unfortunately, I can't justify paying for a custom report.


I found a way to do achieve what I need here. Running the report "Android+/Device Reports (Flat View)/Battery Status and Storage" works for the filter group! Maybe this will help somebody in the future...

In general interesting that some (or just this one?) reports then seem to work as you wrote here.

A quick test shows that most/all(?) of those Android+ flat view reports containing the word "battery" work. I am sorry but I don't have time to test the rest of them right now.

I didn't want to force you to do that ;)
Soti normally should care about in general that reports should be able to work even on filter groups or that filter groups should not be able to be chosen when this shouldn't work.

Nothing on your side to do.
