Webpage displaying weird

Hi All,

I've been tasked with making a tablet into a kiosk for possible deployment. I have a working demo for proof of concept but there's one specific issue I'm having and I'm not sure how to resolve it for when I'm given the go ahead to go live.

One specific Jotform isn't loading properly when opening the URL from a template. In portrait mode it's all squished and nothing seems to work, in landscape mode it looks fine but buttons and field active zones aren't where they're supposed to be. A couple pages might resize the fields when they're active but that requires figuring out where to click to make them active!

This occurred when linking to it both with one of SOTI's templates and with my own code added as a template.

My boss has suggested it might be a problem with the formatting for this specific Jotform too, but I tried a different Kiosk App (just told lockdown mode to launch it from the start) and it seemed to work fine. Downside is with that Kiosk App I can't just load an HTML file, I'd need to link to a hosted URL.

I got time on this, the department requesting it is still working on their pitch for approval, I'm just frustrated.

Screenshots linked here because I can't get them to upload.

Hi Andi,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse.

Based on the behavior described, this appears to be related to SOTI Surf/template rendering or page scaling, particularly since the issue occurs with both the SOTI template and the custom template, while another Kiosk application displays the Jotform correctly.

We recommend the following checks:

  • Test the Jotform URL directly in SOTI Surf to determine whether the issue is related to the template.
  • Verify that the Jotform/template is optimized for mobile and includes a responsive viewport configuration.
  • Ensure that the device is running the latest available SOTI Surf version and retest in both portrait and landscape orientations.
  • If the issue persists only in Surf, the behavior may be related to how the web page is rendered/scaled within Surf.

If you are still facing the issue, please create a support case using SOTI Technical Support – Log a Case. We will review the relevant settings and configuration and investigate further. Thanks!

Warm regards,

RS

First: As i understand you, you link to an external URL, right?
You could do that with the Lockdown kiosk as well in single app mode just pointing to that specific website.

Second: Does the website you try to load, work fine using Chrome or Soti surf outside kiosk mode?
