Is there a script for forcing the device to use ONLY 3G-connection?

I am trying to find a convenient solution for forcing our Samsung XCover 3 and Xcover 4 devices to use only 3G-connections. We have about 500 devices, so it is not in my best interest to do that manually... The reason behind this, is that our version of the MobiControl-cloud is 13.0 and it seems that it doesn't fully support the 4G -connections. Or at least all the phones using the 4G-connections seems to be offline in the Web Console. So is there any way to do this remotely?

It is absolutely not true that MobiControl v13.x does not fully support 4G connections.  You might need to find out the real reason(s) why your devices cannot get connected to the MobiControl server via 4G connections.  It can be your device firmware, the telco operator switch/APN settings, erroreous set-up of data-plan or SIM card configurations, etc.

In the past, it was possible to force network mode of most Samsung devices to 3G/2G only with script command writesecuresetting augmented with relevant arguments involving "preferred_network_mode", numerical mode number, etc.    I did some tests on a few Samsung devices earlier today, and found that they no longer work.  Let's see if Soti support team can give us some updates on new script command or command syntax when they see this post.

Hi,

We also want to force all devices to run on 3G instead of 4G. Until now we didn't get it work and didn't find any solution for this. Did you manage to force them to run in 3G?

Are you aware we are in the middle of a worldwide shutdown of 3G as the preparation and shift to 5G is already underway? If you did end up forcing all of your devices to 3G with 4G disabled you could end up in a bad position later if 3G networks are shut down in your region.
