Cellular signal signal strength not displaying upon enrollment

We are having an issue where when a device enrolls, the signal strength will not display in the status bar any longer. We are seeing this on Zebra devices, TC77 running Android 10 and TC78 running both Android 11 and Android 13. Has anyone ran into this issue and if so, were you able to resolve it? This does not happen on all our devices, just a few. The devices that it does not happen on are running the same configurations as the devices it does happen on.

For each of the three groups of devices mentioned, do ALL devices of the same model & firmware version CONSISTENTLY fail? 

Have you checked if the firmware of the failing devices have different OEMConfig parameter (related to signal-strength ) supported or OEMConfig parameter value configured  when compared with other device model/firmware version that works  fine?

Are you applying a lockdown / kiosk mode to the devices after they are enrolled?

  1. Ensure firmware versions on affected devices match those working correctly.
  2. Check OEM Config settings for any differences related to signal strength.
  3. Temporarily disable lockdown/kiosk mode to see if it affects the display.
  4. Review applied profiles to confirm no restrictions on display.
