Hi! First post here 😊 We're using TC57 and TC57x devices All TC57 devices are using sim cards and are working We have put in sim cards in some TC57x and are experiencing some problems with some of the devices These devices are in a separate folder and when we put them there some of the units lost cellular connection If we're moving them to the folder with the TC57 devices, the cellular connection starts working again and if we're moving them back to the first folder it still works, but not all the time We cannot find any pattern except that these devices are TC57x and that they originally was used in Germany and now are used in Sweden, could that have something to do with it? The only difference between the folders are the lockdown and a script for displaying device name on lock screen. Any help would be appreciated 😊
We are having an issue where when a device enrolls, the signal strength will not display in the status bar any longer. We are seeing this on Zebra devices, TC77 running Android 10 and TC78 running both Android 11 and Android 13. Has anyone ran into this issue and if so, were you able to resolve it? This does not happen on all our devices, just a few. The devices that it does not happen on are running the same configurations as the devices it does happen on.
Hi All, I have roughly 300 Zebra TC56 devices in the field that are using a particular APN for cellular connection. We need to move these devices to a new sim card which will use a different APN. The issue is when I put this sim card into a device the device will not select the new APN so the device has no data connection. The only way I can fix this is to manually change the default APN. These devices are spread all around the country so as you can imagine this is a big problem for us. We created a profile that pushes down the APN that is required however we are unable to activate this as the device would then go offline. These devices are fully locked down however I have tried testing with a device not enrolled and found the same issue. Run down on my testing; 1) I have taken a device out that is not enrolled in SOTI and put the old comms plan sim card in and that connected instantly to Telstra.wap as expected. 2) I switch off the device and place the new sim in (Telstra.internet) and boot the device. No connection. I check to see the device is still pointed to the Telstra.wap APN. 3) I then manually select Telstra.internet and that resolves the data connection problem but still needed a manual interaction to force it to the correct APN. Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to run a scrip to restrict cellular data usage for specific apps? It is possible to manually set "Allow background data usage" in android app manager but I cannot find any similar option in mobicontrol. Thanks.
We have a device that is connected back to Mobicontrol over cellular while roaming. The device does not seem to be picking up the latest profile version? I have a device on Wi-Fi that has updated to the latest profile. Is there a setting somewhere for choosing over what connections the profile will update?
Does Soti have the ability to restrict profiles and packages from being applied over cellular? We have a bunch of Zebra TC-56's and we want them to be able to contact the server when they are out on the road via cellular so we can remote control and locate them, but we do not want them applying packages because it chews up cellular data. Instead we would like the devices to wait until they are back at our buildings on wi-fi to perform package installations and updates. Is this possible via built-in Soti functions or even some scriptable work around?
