Android Ent Enrollment Deactivation date/time

JW

Hi.

So what's the purpose of assigning a Deactivation Date to an Enrollment Policy?

I am testing it and it did deactivate as expected but the device still functions properly.

Can someone provide a quick usecase for using this feature?

Thanks for your time.

The  optional deactivation date of a policy control when the policy stop to be usable.  In your case, it is the time after which no new device can be enrolled with the associated enrollment policy (add-devices rule previously).   The word "deactivation" here for enrollment policy does not mean your enrolled device will get deactivated (unenrolled or out-of-control) after the time specified.

RC already described it fine. In general i think the missunderstanding is because you mix 2 things up:

- deactivaten Date: Just is regarding enrollment, as RC already said, so just stopping enrolling at configured time

- revoke: Deactivates and revokes the profile from a device, so the profile should be removed from the device including all it'S settings etc. depending whats configured in it (you can have packages with "don't delete files" set up, so those would stay).
