Force an app to use mobile data only

We have Samsung tablets from AT&T that are running Android 11 UI 3.1.

I thought there was supposed to be a setting under Settings -> Connections -> Data Usage -> Mobile Data Only Apps to force an app to only use mobile data.

Is there any other way of making an app only use mobile data while it is on a WIFI network?

As far as I know, this "Mobile Data Only Apps"  feature depends very much on the Android version and firmware implementation on particular device brand/model.   I have a handful of different android 11/12 device models in front of me and none of them have this option.

I don't think there is currently any standard MDM API available for any MDM solution to control this.   Maybe some device brand vendor can include such control in their OEMconfig compliant app in the near future.  With that in place, Soti and other MDM solution supporting AppConfig framework can then have such control.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe an app may be coded in such a way that it only communicates via the cellular mobile connection and not with Wifi or other connection.

Hi Mitchell,

Thanks for requesting a response from SOTI Support Staff, Thank you Raymond for your inputs on the query. As Raymond explained MobiControl can't force applications to use Mobile data while on Wifi Network.
