Telecom Expense Management policy can be used to set multiple-threshold alert and action (e.g. on-screen message and/or relocation to a new child device group) based on data usage. Extra feature control that block mobile data can be applied to the new child device group.
As far as I know, the latest MobiControl still does not support per-app control for Wifi connection. You might need a third-party firewall app that supports such functionalities.
Hi Margaret,
Thank you for contacting SOTI Pulse.
As Raymond said, we can use the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Rules to monitors the usage of cellular data and voice minutes for a device or group of devices, allowing you track costs throughout your organization.
A telecom expense management rule enables you to create a notification process for devices that have exceeded their voice and data plan. When a device has exceeded its monthly minutes and data on its wireless plan, this rule will automatically move the device to a quarantine list or notify you via email.
You can read more about the TEM rule for Android+, iOS and Windows Mobile / CE through the following links:
One of the known limitation of the Telecom Data collected via this rule is that it may differ from the data collected by your telecommunications provider and that telecom expense management rules are intended only as supplementary tools.
You can read more on the following topics to assist you further:
I would invite you to create a support case (click here) or call the SOTI Support team (click here) to discuss this Feature further and see if we would be able to find a working solution for you or if this would be a Feature Request. If it is a Feature Request, the agent will create a ticket with our development team so that they can look into this further and check if it would be a viable Feature and if it will be pushed to implementation in future releases of SOTI MobiControl.
Please keep in mind that this would not be an instant resolution as SOTI Product Team have to work internally with different departments to get this added. So, this may take weeks to months to get it included in the new build if the development feels that this would be feasible. Please follow the release notes of SOTI MobiControl to get an update on the improvements done on the new release.
