As there is no Android+ agent for Xiaomi,  your only choice is to use such phone with Android Enterprise device agent.  Period.  I won't bother to mention about the very old generic Android agent, which hasn't been updated for nearly 2 years and considered obsolete, and the feature supported is far worst compared to those offered with Android Enterprise.
