Enable Don't keep Activites " ~ Destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it.

Hello SOTI Community,

Here is what I'm trying to enable across all my TC57X Zebra android 10 handheld devices. I need to enable to this setting in mobicontrol . However I don't know to add this setting. Would this be enabled under work profiles? ETC?

- I would like to assign this setting to all of our devices once added into mobicontrol for maybe 1 or 2 devices for testing.

- Maybe I'll have remote into all the devices individually to enable this setting but that would be time consuming.

Hope maybe the community has some suggestions.

Settings>about phone > build number tap 6-7 times to enable developer mode> go back to settings home page > press system> press advanced> press Developer options> go to apps sections > Enable “Don’t keep Activities “~ Destroy every activity as soon as the user leaves it.

Thanks.

As far as I know, there is no MobiControl script commands to configure this "Don't Keep Activities" option.  Maybe you should check if Zebra OEMconfig app from Managed Google Play store has any option to allow configuration of such parameter.

Personally, I don't think Zebra OEMConfig should implement this option, because according to Google's documentation, it is not recommended to turn such option on under normal circumstance, as doing so may lead to unexpected app freezes/forced-closes and/or reboots.  This option is meant for developer to do debugging of his/her apps in small number of on-hand devices, and not for MASS-SCALE deployment in PRODUCTION devices with an MDM solution.

If your device supports FULL non-html5 remote-control for your MobiControl server instance, there are still ways to greatly reduce the administrative loading for mass-scale deployment to change such parameter.  However, since modifying developer's options menu can potentially expose many security issues if done inappropriately,  I would not discuss that in an open forum to avoid jeopardizing system security of many existing MobiControl implementations if their administrators are not properly guided and advised on such usage.
