Remove/unassign apps from managed playstore

Hi all,

we are running work (fully) managed devices and upgraded some time ago to Mobicontrol 15.6.1
I wanted now unassign apps from our managed playstore to clean up the list shown in the Mobcontrol console when editing an app policy.

But now i noticed i can only assign new apps to the playstore but not the other way around (anymore). Can someone help here? Maybe I just don't see it.

Edit: I found this in the api documentation which maybe could do what i want (set "IsApproved" to false):
/android/managedGooglePlayBindings/{referenceId}/actions/{enterpriseAction}

But there you need the enterpriseAction to be filled but i can't find the relevant entry anywhere where i can see which actions are available.

Wasn't a possible solution, only "sync" is available to this API call.

Hi Rafael,

i have the Same Problem.

When removing a App from the App Policy it will stay available on that Devices who had this App installed.

Only on new Devices or when they had been resetted that app is not longer available in the Playstore.

My Solution is to do not have it longer available in the Kiosk Mode or Reset the Device and reenroll it automated.

I'm not talking about apps on the device. There we don't have problems. If app policy is removed, the app gets uninstalled.

I'm talking about getting rid of apps assigned to managed playstore but not used anymore to keep the list as clean and short as possible.

Hello Rafael,

Thank you for requesting an answer from SOTI Support!

If you are referring to the list below:

Please perform steps below to remove the app from the list:

App Policy -> Click on Managed Google Play -> Search for the app you'd like to remove from the list (in the screenshot below I have an app "Android Clock Widget" as an example) -> Unapprove the app -> Click Ok -> Now you won't see that app in the list anymore.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Yes you are completely right. And in the past we have had this button but it seem to be gone since we migrated to 15.6.1. I would be happy to have this button.

We can choose the app and then press "Select" but then we get thrown back directly to the "Select Apps" part  (your first screenshot) and don't get to the part of your second screenshot.

Also two of those apps are unpublished by vendor, so they are not able to find in the Google playstore anymore and neither Google nor the vendor of the app can unassign/remove it from our managed playstore.

So, the best would be (currently) to get the information i need to perform the api call which seem also be missing in the documentation.

Hello Rafael,

Thank you for your reply.

Please login to your Managed Google Play account following the link:
https://play.google.com/work/licenses/apps

Once you are logged-in, search for the app and you will have the unapprove button.

Please let me know how it goes and if you have any questions.

Hi, we were able to remove one app BUT:

2 apps are even not listed there:

1 which has been removed by the vendor
1 which has been added accidently using Mobicontrol 15.6.1

I am getting a 404 page when clicking on the application after searching it. Unable to unapprove any appications from the Google play portal.
Any ideas what I can try, or who to escalate to?
