Whether or not battery temperature data can be collected depends very much on your device model and firmware.  Unfortunately, I do not have your device model (Zebra ET45) to perform any test.

To do a simple test yourself, just add a new data collection rule/policy with the battery temperature item selected, and have the policy saved and assigned to your test device.  I always also include the universally supported "battery % level" item in the same policy in my own tests.   Then, wait for some time exceeding the basic collection interval, and then check in (and/or force a file-sync action) of the device to try to have collected data transferred to the server.  Check the "Collected Data" tab associated with the targeted device icon, and select "battery temperature" field to see if there are any related data collected.
