I've done this by a signal policy, to trigger a script when they check in. With this command

app_upgrade disable com.google.android.webview

Yeah would be nice if Google let us control this better but maybe we get something closer to this in future. I recommend to raise things like this (lack of version control) to the official Android Enterprise Community so it gets seen by Google as we fight already a lot for more version control (including FOTA).

Hi,

As Pieter already answered your question (please mark it as solution if it helped) could you please tell us why you need to block it? In the past we already encountered multiple Google updates to different components (WebView, Gboard, Chrome etc) that broke many things so it's nice to know what it causes and what version is safe.

EDIT: It can be also done using Profile Task Scheduler payload. Signal policies are usually used as reaction if something you monitor changes

Cannot disable update, not for Urovo DT50. I have tested the script (not valid for the device) and reply from Soti Support.

 

I need block it because latest version not working with customer app.
