We've been investigating getting mxconfig script changes to work in kiosk mode. The solution I found was that I had to notify kiosk off for my mxconfig changes to take. The changes being setting Screen Type to None. This was the script:
Notify kiosk off
mxconfig /sdcard/ScreenTypeChange.xml
Notify kiosk on
Has anyone found a better workaround for this? We're leery to apply to turn off kiosk in the field even if it is momentarily.
Devices: Zebra TC75x

We haven't had any issues distributing mxconfig packages to devices with Kiosk mode enabled. What Agent version and MobiControl version are you using?
What are the contents of the xml? I too have not had any issues deploying xmls to any TC75x with the Kiosk applied.

Just a note. This was fixed by adding the Settings app to the kiosk profile and not displaying the icon.
