Hi Julia,
MobiControl offers quite a detailed permission management system. If you go to Users and Permissions, find the specific user you’d like to edit, and then open the Device Group Permissions tab, you’ll be able to control exactly which groups (in your case, locations/warehouses) that user can access.
Once permissions are set, the user will only see the device groups you’ve granted access to within the MobiControl console - nothing else will appear. It’s a great way to tailor visibility and keep things tidy for each user.
I would advise familiarising yourself with the different permissions as they are very granular and you can cater this permissions to each user depending on the use case.
Many thanks,
Darius
Just to add here, please remember you may also need to grant those groups permissions to the relevant profiles and app policies, so they can see them and their status on the devices.
We use a seperate group getting read access to all profiles and app policies (so they could see all of them in the relevant profiles and policies menues but not edit them) so they see them on the devices and can (depending on your granted permissions) revoke/reapply them on device level.
If you want even here a split, you need to do it seperate again in this part with the already existing groups (no need for a seperate overall group then).
Hi Julia,
MobiControl supports device group tree/hierarchy with a maximum depth of 10 levels, and also supports creation of hierachical tree of virtual device group in which devices are either manually added or automatically added with fitler expression.
Different administrator may be configured to have relevant permissions of one or more devive group subtree(s)s containing the devices he/she is responsible for. Permission settings are inherited down the whole device group subtree by default, but can also be overridden where appropriately if needed.
