MH

Hello everybody,

I have searched on different topics and forums, but i don't find anything.

How can I disable the Wifi On/Off button ?

I don't want a user to be able to turn the Wifi off.

Thank you !

What is your management use case? Is this for BYOD or for a shared fleet of COSU devices? If COSU then I would recommend using a custom launcher or the SOTI Lockdown profile to only whitelist access to the applications that the end user needs.

Hello Matt,

Thank you for your answer.

It is for compagny's devices. But we want the user to use the smartphones as they want.

The only thing we want, is that they use WiFi when the compagny's WiFi is available.

The Smartphones are Zebra TC56. May be we can do things with that ?

Thank you,

Regards, MAH

Since they are Zebra Android devices you have an extra layer of control compared to what you normally would have with SOTI and Android by way of the Zebra MX management layer. With MX you can create a configuration by which it restricts different sections of the Settings application in order to effectively block access to disabling the WiFi through the Settings. You can also disable the WiFi toggle in the Notification Pull Down through MX:

The TC56 also has GPS so you could possibly set up a geofencing rule in SOTI to Enable Wifi and connect to the corporate SSID when inside the geofence.

Hi Marc,

We can help you accomplish what you need which is disabling the WIFI On/Off button and also the WIFI toggle in the notification pull down on your Zebra TC56s. Please give us a call at 905-624-9828 or email us at support@soti.net to create a case and help you further.

Why would this be handled as a support case? Isn't that kind of against the spirit of a discussion forum?

Hello Matt,

Since the solution requires the use of scripts that are only applicable to the client’s devices and also knowledge of the tool StageNow, we prefer to go through this process with the client to ensure there is no potential negative impact to production environments.

Kind Regards,

Once you've done doing the workaround, can you share to this forum the procedures?
