Force Zoom with Soti Surf in kiosk mode

Solved

Hello,

I have kiosk mode enabled with multiple applications, including a shortcut for a web-based app. I need to enable forced zoom in the browser so that end users can zoom in and out as needed.

When in admin mode, I can achieve this in Chrome by going to Settings > Accessibility > Force Enable Zoom. However, I’ve tried various approaches in kiosk mode, but nothing seems to work.

Does anyone know how to enable forced zoom specifically with SOTI Surf in kiosk mode? The "Allow Zoom Gestures" is checked.

Thanks in advance!

What are the version & build numbers of your Soti Surf secure browser?

I found no problem allowing or disallowing zooming gesture (using two fingers) in Soti-Surf kiosk mode in my tests using v2015.0.1.2.  Using the following LEGACY script  to change the zoom level in kiosk mode was also successful:

     sendinfo net.soti.action.surf BROWSERZOOMLEVEL 400

where the number is the zoom percentage (hence, a value of 100 => no zoom in/out) .

Hello,

I’m using SOTI Surf v2025.0.1.2. I’ve tried using the script you mentioned, but it doesn’t seem to work for the specific website I’m trying to access. However, when I tested the on Google.com, it worked as expected.

In Google Chrome, there’s an option to force zoom through the settings. Do you have a script or any other method to enable forced zoom specifically in SOTI Surf?

Thank you!

Have you tested with other web-browsers such as Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc. to see if it is also not possible to zoom in/out when browsing your targeted web-site(s)?

Please try to change the "text scaling" option  under Accessibility session in the GENERAL tab of Soti Surf to see if the zoom level gets modified accordingly when accessing your targeted web-site(s).

When I set the text scaling to the maximum (200%), it initially works. However, after logging into the website, it appears fully zoomed in, and I can manually zoom out and then zoom back in again.

I’m not sure if there’s a setting for controlling the default zoom level.

I resolved the issue by sending the script sendinfo net.soti.action.surf BROWSERZOOMLEVEL 100 and adjusting the text scaling to 200%.

Thank you for your help!
