SOTI Surf Rotation

I am currently working with a WT6300 RF Mobile computer and we have it set in landscape mode however when using SOTI surf the application is still rotating.

Do we know if there is a system in which we can stop that?

While disable auto rotate does help it when it is being worn it still rotates when docked..

Good day Joe,

Thank you for contacting SOTI Pulse.

Have you tried to block screen rotation on Android Devices using scripts?

  1. Click the device action to send a script:

  1.  Select Legacy from the on Script Type drop down list.
  2. Enter the the following scripts in the Script Editor. The scripts can be used together:

Lock orientation when device rotates:
writesecuresetting -sys accelerometer_rotation 0

Allow orientation when device rotates:
writesecuresetting -sys accelerometer_rotation 1

Change orientation to portrait mode:
lockdownorientation landscape

Change orientation to portrait mode:
lockdownorientation portrait

Example of full script to be sent:
writesecuresetting -sys accelerometer_rotation 0
sleep 5
lockdownorientation landscape

Device logs will indicate if the script was sent correctly. If no error is shown, the script reached the device successfully.

If the script is compatible with the device you should observe the results on the device.

If this resolves your issue, please mark this as 'is solution', otherwise let us know how you get on and we, along with the SOTI Pulse community, will continue to assist you in any way we can.

For more information on scripts, see Using Script Commands in the MobiControl Online Help.

I look forward to hearing from you, have a fantastic weekend.

The browser rotation when the device is in use an be resolved by making sure the auto rotate is off but still reverted when it is docked. This seems to be more of an issue I will need to address with Zebra

Hi Joe,

After discussing this with the Zebra team, I wanted to update you accordingly with the next steps.

Zebra has found that this is a requirement for WT63 devices, that screen should rotate when the device is docked even if "screen rotation" is disabled.

You can raise this with the Zebra team who may be able to request a new Feature for you.

Please mark this as 'solution' if this aided you with regards to your query, thank you for your time.

Have a great week.
