Is there a way to make LDAP credentials (Username and Password) to pass through to profile configurations.

In Mobicontrol you setup you add device rules with LDAP Authentication. This will force users to enter their AD credentials at the time the device is enrolled into Mobicontrol. In the profiles options of Android+ devices, in the Wifi configurations/exchange configurations/Netmotion configurations, you can use Macros that detect the enrolled user name.

Is there a way where the passwords that were used to enroll the device can be passed to these settings so the end user would not have to enter their password in the WI-Fi and exchange settings?

Thanks,

Hi Farqan,

Although I think that this is a great usage of the Macros and would probably make everyone's lives easier.  The usage of Macro's depends on information that is stored in the Db. therefore we are able to call on it via scripting.

We do not capture other application password information in our DB.  However this being the case Android Oreo has a feature/application to capture and save passwords to the associated google account and use them in the auto fill as you would with google chrome.   I would imagine it would work with all LDAP required applications especially where the username is required but may not work between different applications.

This would most likley require a Google account on the device, the application and Android O as the OS.  I haven't tried it myself but theoretically this should work if you are interested in pursuing this and the application can be installed VIA MobiControl and would need to be running when they sign in the first time to configure MC.

As far as to doing this solely with MC I don't believe we have anyone using the software this way and I don't believe we have a workaround to make it happen otherwise.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

I have a similar question but instead of LDAP credentials, I would like to know if there is away to pass SAML authentication token (authentication via Okta) from the initial enrollment into SAML-based apps like ZScaler Z-App for mobile, Zoom meeting client for mobile and Slack mobile app.

Thanks,
