CT60 with latest android 8.0 is resetting display size scaling to "large" at reboot.

I've just put the latest honeywell android version (HON660-O-86.00.13-(0108)) on a honeywell CT60 and since doing that every time it reboots the 'settings' > 'display' > 'advanced' > 'display size' is being changed to "large".  My preferred setting is "default" as otherwise the SOTI lockdown menu is single rather than two columns and the apps are too jumbo sized.

Has anyone else come across this issue where even manually changed settings are not persisting across a reboot?  I have used SOTI to deploy an EPP XML config file but there appears to be no setting for "display size" in there only "font size".

I've also asked this on the Honeywell site as perhaps theres an EPP XML setting to control the scale that is not yet documented.

Hi Mark

Thanks for your query. Could you please let us know the MC version you are using . Also please share if the enlarged font is observed only when the lockdown is applied or without lockdown too?

Regards

If the main problem is SOTI lockdown menu showing single rather than two columns, the simplest fix is probably to change the font/icon size and spacings in the html template associated with the lockdown menu.

Hello Akmod and Raymond.

The MC version is 14.4.2.1307 and agent is 13.9.0.1046 with rem 1.16.0.100.

It seems to be at reboot only if the EPP XML files are present.  So the behaviour I've observed with the CT60 is that some settings (data processing of the scan engine for example) will only change after a reboot.  However if the EPP XML files are present at a reboot the display scale is set to large.

After the EPP settings are applied, if I manually set the display scale back to default, delete the EPP files and reboot again the scale is not large for any subsequent reboot (until any future EPP update).

So must be an aspect of the honeywell provisioner settings on this new HON firmware?  I assume if they don't have a display size specified it defaults to large?  But there seems to be no xml entry for that in the provisioner (and I have the latest version published).

Raymond re. the lockdown scale I suppose thats an option to change fonts, but the global display scale affects also the apps launched (movilizer).

I tried putting in the post-install script package a line to remove the files after installing, and that prevents the initial display scale change on reboot.  But then not all my EPP settings apply until a reboot is done, catch 22.
